ϡ - Chapter Thirty; Winter Wonderland antics [Voice|Action]

[ Good morning Luceti if you’re in town today, and probably in the surrounding areas as well, you’ll notice some large lumbering pure white figures walking about some might even be flying. No, no, they aren’t harmful in the least, although the creatures they take after might argue otherwise, and they are not yetis or other such things that come out in the thickest of snowfalls. What they however are the products of one derpy headmaster feeling the Christmas cheer thanks to the effects the Malnosso have put in place and him waking up very early in the morning after the snowfall last night to make said creatures. There will be various mythological snow creatures walking about today though none of them can make much noise or do much of anything, they’re pretty docile actually and if you wanted to you could probably even ride on top of them they won't mind, really! There will be a dragon with icicles for horns and teeth following Helios around as he makes his way into town. He’ll be there for a good portion of the day also making a majestic Griffin, and a snow unicorn. That’s not to say these are the only things that’ll be popping up. Other mythological creatures might be seen around as well. Phoenixes, mandrakes, minotaurs, kitsunes, Kodama in the more forested areas and even Nue. The list is really endless and well Helios has been having probably too much fun doing this. Some of them will be life sized, but nothing too extravagant or outlandish, lets say the tallest would be around ten or so feet tall, while others miniature. They’ll all be moving and just mulling about and you can be sure they’re movements are quite like the real things if you’ve ever encountered one.

They can be interacted with through the entire day with Helios sometimes in accompaniment. And later into the afternoon Helios will be found in the town square with his snowy dragon companion making your standard issued snowmen, each one getting their own complimentary hat, scarf, and pipe. He'll take a break and eventually pull out his journal for a short little network post. ]

Ah there's nothing like freshly fallen snow to make a good sturdy snowman out of, is there? I used to do it all the time back in Romania. I believe there was even a game that whoever had the best would have to make hot chocolate for everyone...with extra marshmallows. [ A thoughtful hum. ]

I was thinking...has Luceti ever had a snowman or ice sculpture competition? I've seen some extremely good ones around as of late. I think we could have a rather good turn out, quite the competition too, all in good fun though!

[ He may not be able to summon mythica into existence here, without the dangers of the side effects it would impose on his own world, but that doesn't mean he can't build them as an alternative! And because he just has to ask... ] Are there any creatures in your worlds that can control this element or are at least generally associated with it? Yuki-onna is one of the better known ones in mine. A tall and beautiful woman with black hair and blue lips. She's said to be quite cold, figuratively and literally, but she also has a more motherly and good side to her. The Snow Queen is another one, based on Yuki-onnas, and then there's even Jack Frost too. All are very similar in the fact that they deal with this element. And let's not forget Yetis, interesting beings yetis are. They have quite knowledge of mountaineering not that I expected any less of course.

[ He totally knows this from experience guys. Not like anyone is surprised anymore. ] I suppose Santa Claus can work too tis the season after all! I wonder if the people here had anyone like him? Ah, well, left to speculation at this point hm? I do hope everyone has a good holiday though, you can never get too into the spirit of things.

[ Albeit the Malnosso seem to fit that bill at times...but, no, he is not going to let the Malnosso ruin his Christmas not this year. Finally around later in the evening all the snow mythica will go back to being their snowy, sculptural selves, and can be found throughout the village in regal more natural poses. ]

[While on her way to check on things at the Welcome Center, movement at the edge of her vision catches Rydia's notice. She turns...and stares, abruptly coming to a halt as she spots Helios and his animate snow dragon. For a moment, she's struck speechless.]

[ Helios is packing more snow on to his draconian companion, because it'd be a shame if he melted, he'll blink mid-packing technique and follow the dragon's gaze as it is the first to spot Rydia. A smile from Helios. ] Ah! Rydia hello! Wonderful day isn't it?

[ Yeah don't mind the dragon it's all cool. ]

[Hi, Helios. Yeah, Giles can see you've been busy. He can see as much very closely, chiefly because he's been backed against a wall by a snow minotaur. Oh, not for any malicious reasons - it clearly doesn't mean him any harm and probably hasn't noticed he's there. But Giles is reluctant to put himself any nearer to it, just in case this is all a ruse.

[ Internal keysmash! Helios will see you there Giles and he's in the middle of making a tiny, more miniature snow creations and will stop dead. He'll rush over, although it's more of a slow gait because he knows his creations won't harm anyone, and the Minotaur will nod its head lightly stepping away and walking off. ]

Giles! Nothing to worry about! They're perfectly harmless!

[The things you see when you go out to do routine chores.

Because it's now too cold for the TMNT to be going outside to do much of... anything, really, Robert has taken it upon himself to do all the mundane outdoors-requiring-tasks of the household. After all, no sense in them going outside if they can avoid it.

But he certainly doesn't expect to run into the hindquarters of a snowy unicorn. And for once, thanks to Twilight, he can actually identify a mythological creature! ... Albeit he still doesn't know they're mythical, but give him some credit anyway.]

...A ... a unicorn...?

[It only takes a few moments more to realize it's made of snow. Or at least very thoroughly covered in it.]

... What on Terra...?

[ Sup Robert! Helios is totally invested in making a snow Kappa right now but a brief glance up gives him insight as to where you almost ran into a snow unicorn he cooked up a few hours ago. ]

Robert! [ He'll wave and then come over smiling as he makes note of the scientist's expression. ]

[Action]

[Ginia is outside their new house, throwing a tennis ball around for Odin. She's completely unaware of the snowy mythical creatures about, but Odin certainly notices. When a snowy kitsune comes in the area, Odin drops the ball and growls quietly, putting himself between Ginia and the living snow sculpture.]

Odin? What's wrong? I-is someone there?

[ These snow creatures! Helios will be in the area just in time to catch it the happenings. He'll be over there in a second, don't worry. ] Ah! It's n-nothing! Just, just a kitsune. Well! Not, not a real one you know. I just made one out of snow and-and I suppose Odin didn't take very well to it.

[ The kitsune however will dart back towards Helios running in circles around his legs. Odin had protected you well Ginia from the fearsome snow!kitsune! ] Odin is quite the good protector though.

[So Luceti is looking a lot like Freezeezy Peak now. Huh.

Not that this is a bad thing. Kazooie liked Freezeezy Peak! But at the same time, it is very weird to see it like this.

The breegull in question is just minding her own business flitting about the rooftops - and trying to get a proper foothold on the edges, what with all those lights - when suddenly a giant snowy phoenix swoops right over her head.]

Hey! What gives?!

[That's clearly not anybody with wings that she knows. And that jerk nearly hit her!]

Try that again, buster, and you're getting an Egg in the face!

[Yes, Helios, there is a giant red bird threatening your snow-phoenix. Wat do?]

[ Helios will be...rather alarmed right now! Please to not be destroying his lovely snow phoenix Kazooie. Helios will run over looking back up at the brightly colored citizen. ]

Ah! I-I'm terribly sorry. They're not v-very graceful I'm afraid. I suppose it's one of the drawbacks to them being made of snow. Are you alright?

But, hm, Yuki Jyorou? I don't think I've ever heard of her before.

[Grune is absolutely fascinated. Of course she isn't all afraid of the snow creatures--in fact, she's already made a friend of a kitsune and is carefully petting it with a gloved hand.

They're all absolutely beautiful, and she's going to be so sad when the day ends and they stop moving about.

[ Helios will say hello! He was just getting finished with making a few kodama when he spots Grune with that kitsune. Helios is glad that people are enjoying them so much!

That was the point and it's nice to know he can spread some cheer about with this. ] Ah Grune, hello! I see you've made a new friend.

It's like all her shiny LisaFrank folder dreams from second grade are happening. Well, with significantly less sparkles and rainbow puppies (i.e. none) but she's totally okay with that. She's still a little bewildered by it, so for now she's just staring at it, occasionally taking a cautious step or two towards it.]</sub>

[ Yes it is a unicorn and Helios will peek out from behind it and give a wave. ] Don't worry! It won't hurt you, they're perfectly docile.

[ And as if to exemplify this Helios will give the snowy beast a light pat on the side as he packs more snow on to it. Can't have them melting after all. ]

[It's just another typical afternoon of walking home from school for Roji...except for the fact that today he's run into a bunch of snow kitsunes.

For a second he thought his eyes were deceiving him. Animal spirits made out of snow suddenly dancing around him? Ridiculous.

Except in Luceti, nothing is impossible.

So now he's simply marveling at them, even offering to play with them. At least they're not trying to hurt him!]

[ And cue Helios walking by, being on break for the moment, smiling as he notes Roji and the kitsunes playing. It'll be a second before he makes his way over to the both of them.

Don't mind Helios grinning like a derp. ]

I suppose that Inanna, one of the Devas, could count... [Considering Iria's water magic also formed things like Icicle and Ice Tornado.] But I wouldn't say we have any set affiliations. As for ice sculpture competitions... I read once that Tenos, a very snow country back home, has them -- or had them before the war started, but I don't know about Luceti.

Inanna? Interesting we have things called Devas back in my own world. Superhuman beings that live longer than the average human. And another belief is that they're deities that work in the favor of good people.

But I think a competition might nice for here. [ It'll at least help people take their mind off things, right? ]

[ The voice coming from the journal is soft and thoughtful. It's accompanied by the faint sound of fingers brushing through snow, Aether having found the snowy griffin and now engaged in providing it with some well-deserved skritches. ]

Most of the Snow Maidens I knew back home would take offense to being compared with Her Heartless Majesty. Unlike her, they don't take lives on purpose.

No, typically yuki-onnas don't do it on purpose. Actually most of them are quite motherly to their sons and daughters. [ Huh interesting. ]

I suppose the Snow Queen isn't very...well liked in your world then. [ Neither is she in Helios' but that was only based on one encounter out of many. And as a firm believer in giving people second chances...Helios thinks there's a way for her to change. ]

[And then Rin encountered a snow minotaur. This is... a demon...

And he still can't draw his sword, shit. He breathes into his gloves, trying to decide what to do. The snow-thing is staring him down and seems rather lifelike... so maybe he can flee- no this thing look dangerous it might endanger other people. and then it takes a step closer. Rin gulps, and then decides, fuck it. He's going to leap towards the snow-bull to punch it]

[ Helios will just be coming out of the bakery with a few muffins and things, making moving snow sculptures builds up an appetite okay? He'll almost choke on that bagel when he sees Rin about to attack that minotuar. He is just...going to rush on over now bagel still in mouth and his free hand waving a little. ] Mmmfh!

[ Bagel! Right have to take that out of your mouth before you speak! He knew this might happen but he was hoping it wouldn't. Then again with the way things happen in Luceti...he should have probably made an announcement, hm? ] W-Wait! It-it's not going to hurt you!

[Prompted by Rydia, Kain heads out to get a look at this dragon she'd mentioned. As soon as he sees it, he pauses to watch. What a fascinating variety, unlike any he's seen before...]

[ And Helios being his absentminded self doesn't notice Kain but the snow dragon does. Said dragon will hit Helios lightly in the back with its tail making the headmaster stubble slightly. ] Oh for heaven's sake what is it--

[ Oh! Someone he hasn't spoken to before, hm? Helios will clear his throat and smile. ] Ah hello!

[Eggman is just on his way home from the item shop this snowy day, having picked up a new blowtorch for welding together his various creations. All is well until he finds the path blocked by a unicorn of all things.

He stares at it with confusion for a moment.]

The Malnosso! [he decides to himself, before trying to get around the annoying snow animal so he can go back to the apartment and check his journal for signs of experiments.

Only, the unicorn annoyingly gets back in his way. And again. Eggman will soon lose his patience with the thing and ignite his blowtorch, melting away at the snow creation with no mercy.]

Grrr! Stupid beast! Take this!

[Once he's satisfied that the thing is destroyed, he'll laugh triumphantly. Suck on that, Helios!]

[ What?! Why is he sucking on anything? He didn't do anything he just wanted to spread some Christmas cheer! But oh gosh his poor snow unicorn! At least he made a few others throughout the day. He sees the actions acted upon by Eggman on his creation and Helios honestly runs over, out of breath as he finally reaches Eggman. ]

S-Stop! Wh-what are you doing? Th-they were...they are perfectly h-harmless you know. [ He poor unicorn reduced to a puddle on the snowy ground. Helios looks a bit upset but he knew he should have announced it over the journals. ] It wasn't going to do anything to you... [ Pooouting so much pouting. ]

[ Fenimore is taking Sophie, the white-haired three-year-old NPC in her care, on a walk to the clothing store to find her something new, since some of her old clothes are getting small when she encounters Helios. On the way, she was trying to keep Sophie entertained by pointing out things of interest, which has a mixed rate of catching Sophie's attention.

However, Sophie comes to point out something that interests her. "It's a big lizard!" Fenimore looks over and, completely missing Helios, barely contains an urge to shout when she sees the moving snow dragon. Sophie, entirely unperturbed and actually fairly excited, attempts to run towards it, but Fenimore scoops up the squirming toddler, hissing, ] No, no, no, no touching! It's dangerous!

[ She backs up, trying to look for an escape route and ignoring Sophie's protests, "It's just a lizard." It may seem calm right now, but a dragon is a dragon is a dragon. ]

[ Helios, who is a little bit away from his dragon and thus he doesn't hear Fenimore's whisper, is bent down working on another sculpture of his. When he hears the commotion from behind his dragon he immediately goes over, coming out behind said snow dragon. Fenimore, and Sophie both make his eyes widen. With only the actions playing out to piece together this meeting Helios' initial reaction is to sheepishly laugh. ]

Oh! No! I-It's perfectly harmless! I assure you he wouldn't hurt a fly! [ Helios gives the snow dragon an affectionate pat on the side. ] See? He won't do anything I-I promise! [ The dragon nods in affirmation at Helios' words. ]

Where I come from, the summon spirit Celsius is associated with ice and snow, as is the Centurion Glacies. Making a pact with Celsius allows a summoner to use her powers in battle, though you would be better off speaking to Sheena if you wish to know the details about how Celsius' powers work.

[Hello, sir. That is a nice griffin you have there. Caesar pauses, tilting his head as he considers the snow creature before he eventually decides to make his way over. It's so big, he wonders how long it must have taken to make.]

Did you do this all by yourself?

[ It is a nice griffin and said griffin will be watching Caesar as he makes his way over towards a hunched blond haired man who may or may not be starting a snow sculpture of a faerie. Helios will turn around noting the griffin's behavior and of course the question directed at him. ]

Hm? Ah! Yes! I, um, did. A-A little magic can go a long way. [ A sheepish laugh as he brings a gloved hand to the back of his neck. ]
