ϡ - Chapter Thirty; Winter Wonderland antics [Voice|Action]

[ Good morning Luceti if you’re in town today, and probably in the surrounding areas as well, you’ll notice some large lumbering pure white figures walking about some might even be flying. No, no, they aren’t harmful in the least, although the creatures they take after might argue otherwise, and they are not yetis or other such things that come out in the thickest of snowfalls. What they however are the products of one derpy headmaster feeling the Christmas cheer thanks to the effects the Malnosso have put in place and him waking up very early in the morning after the snowfall last night to make said creatures. There will be various mythological snow creatures walking about today though none of them can make much noise or do much of anything, they’re pretty docile actually and if you wanted to you could probably even ride on top of them they won't mind, really! There will be a dragon with icicles for horns and teeth following Helios around as he makes his way into town. He’ll be there for a good portion of the day also making a majestic Griffin, and a snow unicorn. That’s not to say these are the only things that’ll be popping up. Other mythological creatures might be seen around as well. Phoenixes, mandrakes, minotaurs, kitsunes, Kodama in the more forested areas and even Nue. The list is really endless and well Helios has been having probably too much fun doing this. Some of them will be life sized, but nothing too extravagant or outlandish, lets say the tallest would be around ten or so feet tall, while others miniature. They’ll all be moving and just mulling about and you can be sure they’re movements are quite like the real things if you’ve ever encountered one.

They can be interacted with through the entire day with Helios sometimes in accompaniment. And later into the afternoon Helios will be found in the town square with his snowy dragon companion making your standard issued snowmen, each one getting their own complimentary hat, scarf, and pipe. He'll take a break and eventually pull out his journal for a short little network post. ]

Ah there's nothing like freshly fallen snow to make a good sturdy snowman out of, is there? I used to do it all the time back in Romania. I believe there was even a game that whoever had the best would have to make hot chocolate for everyone...with extra marshmallows. [ A thoughtful hum. ]

I was thinking...has Luceti ever had a snowman or ice sculpture competition? I've seen some extremely good ones around as of late. I think we could have a rather good turn out, quite the competition too, all in good fun though!

[ He may not be able to summon mythica into existence here, without the dangers of the side effects it would impose on his own world, but that doesn't mean he can't build them as an alternative! And because he just has to ask... ] Are there any creatures in your worlds that can control this element or are at least generally associated with it? Yuki-onna is one of the better known ones in mine. A tall and beautiful woman with black hair and blue lips. She's said to be quite cold, figuratively and literally, but she also has a more motherly and good side to her. The Snow Queen is another one, based on Yuki-onnas, and then there's even Jack Frost too. All are very similar in the fact that they deal with this element. And let's not forget Yetis, interesting beings yetis are. They have quite knowledge of mountaineering not that I expected any less of course.

[ He totally knows this from experience guys. Not like anyone is surprised anymore. ] I suppose Santa Claus can work too tis the season after all! I wonder if the people here had anyone like him? Ah, well, left to speculation at this point hm? I do hope everyone has a good holiday though, you can never get too into the spirit of things.

[ Albeit the Malnosso seem to fit that bill at times...but, no, he is not going to let the Malnosso ruin his Christmas not this year. Finally around later in the evening all the snow mythica will go back to being their snowy, sculptural selves, and can be found throughout the village in regal more natural poses. ]

[Rin actually fails to hear Helios until he's already punched the thing. Mercifully, he has yet to use his flames, but he did just punch the tightly packed snow with super strength (roughly five or six time a grown adult man's) so you decide how much impact force damage that does to the Minotaur.

He then turns to the guy who was shouting things, briefly taking his eyes off the snow monster]

[ It'll take out a big chunk of it and the Minotaur might end up on its hands and knees. It doesn't react at all to the advancements of Rin.

Helios on the other hand will run up to the Minotaur looking at the gruesome, albeit lacking in any sort of gory, damage done to his sculpture. ] Ah! I-It's not so bad. I'll have you patched up in n-no time.

[ He turns to Rin his tone and look one of apology. ] They're, um, p-perfectly harmless. I-I'm sorry if it startled you! Th-that wasn't my intentions...I should have made an announcement over the journals.

[rashness]

[...Oh.

He couldn't hear this things's voice so he assumed it was just attacking him when it got closer, but now he blinks, looking between it and Helios]

What is it?

[folklorist]

[ Helios looks back at Rin then the Minotaur once more. ] It's...it's a Minotaur. A mythological being in my world. They're most well known from the story of Theseus and the labyrinth.

[rashness]

So... how is it here?

[ ... ]

[folklorist]

Ah! W-Well he's not exactly a real minotaur! I-I just...m-made one out of snow. He's perfectly safe to, to be around. I-I assure you, I'm sorry to have startled you.

Oh. Uh... then sorry for punching-

Wait so does that make it like a... what was the word... golem?

[folklorist]

[ Helios' eyebrows raise a little. ] So you're familiar with golems then?

[ He taps a gloved finger against pursed lips. ] Yes it's...something like that. The enchantment used is a bit more refined than a standard one you would use on regular golems.

[rashness]

Well, sorta. I mean... I know what Greenmen are and apparently they're golems.

[ ... ]

[folklorist]

Yes, yes, Green men are different though in my world. Usually nature spirits or deities...used quite frequently is architecture.

[ Helios hums a little to himself as he goes to patch up his still ruined minotaur. ] What other types of things have you've seen before?

[ Do not mind him Rin. This is his idea of idle chatter. ]

Uh... ghosts, goblins, ghouls... [He counts on his fingers] Does Amaimon count?

[Okay so he's a bit more open here in Luceti. Even if he's still warily glancing at the minotaur]

Amaimon...Amaimon. [ Give him a second to process and figure out this name. OH! Oh! ] You mean the prince of hell? Caretaker and controller of Asmodai? Yes, yes, he most certainly counts.

[rashness]

What's an Asmodai? I heard he was king of goblins and stuff like that.

[Referring to Amaimon, that is]

[folklorist]

Asmodai, Asmodai. He's the king of demons in my own world. The way he came to be as such is quite varied through myths and beliefs however.

[ Helios hums. ] The only being said to have control over him was Amaimon.

[rashness]

...Wha-? But the king of demons would be Satan, right?

[Now. He is absorbed into this, the minotaur is ignored]

[folklorist]

Yes in most literature Satan, the devil, he is the true ruler of hell. But there are also Kings, Marquis, Dukes and Princes of hell. These demons typically often lead so called "legion" within hell and represent something. Such as greed things like that.

They're known as the Ars Goetia demons, found usually in the Lesser Key of Solomon if you're curious. They're, um, a group of about 72 demons. Asmodai is number thirty-two and Amaimon is also a Prince of Hell.

[rashness]

I dunno about all that, but I've met Amaimon, and Satan. [A sigh and a shrug as he looks back up at the minotaur]

So Amaimon's that big of deal? I guess he was super powerful...

[folklorist]

You've met Satan? Ah I-I see. [ Hm. Interesting. ]

Yes! Well, one of the more powerful demons known. He's actually not that bad, really. Once you get to speaking with him every now and then. But! O-Of course that's in my own world. I-I'm not sure if it goes the same for others.

[rashness]

Guy's a complete jerk where I'm from - tried to kill me twice, broke one of my classmate's arms, and another rib's... used some sorta demon parasite thing on Shiemi...

[In fact, he gets a little ticked off just thinking about it. Enough that a small spark of flame might cop off around one of his ears. Blue flame, that is]

[folklorist]

I'm s-sorry then that, that happened to you and your friends. It's always difficult to compare things like this because of the large difference world's have between one another. [ A frown ever apparent on Helios' face as he states this. It's always hard realizing that worlds and the beings within them are so vastly different. Like the vampires in Giles' and Buffy's world. Helios takes a small step back looking rather surprised at those blue flames. ]

Ah! Y-You're...

[rashness]

[he's- Oh shit, he notices the flames in the corner of his eye as soon as Helios takes a step back. He panics a moment (causing them to glow brighter) but then manages to make them die down with a very concentrated effort. Fortunately, they hadn't spilled over yet. But crap. Did this guy recognize those as Satan's Blue Flames? Or would their worlds be different about that...]

[folklorist]

Ah! I-I'm sorry! It just took me by surprise is all! [ A sheepish laugh as Helios rubs the back of his neck. He regains his composure easy enough and even regards the flames somewhat...intrigued. ]

Blue flames...can anyone...no, no silly question to ask. Probably not, hm.

[ What sort of creature would have flames of blue? Nothing he's ever encountered before... ]

U-ugh... just, forget that, sorry.

[And he bows slightly. Hanging his head]

[folklorist]

[ Helios startles a little holding up both hands. He looks apologetic and slightly embarrassed. ] Oh please i-it's really nothing to be sorry or apologize about! I-I probably shouldn't have pushed the subject and for that I apologize.
