ϡ - Chapter Thirty; Winter Wonderland antics [Voice|Action]

[ Good morning Luceti if you’re in town today, and probably in the surrounding areas as well, you’ll notice some large lumbering pure white figures walking about some might even be flying. No, no, they aren’t harmful in the least, although the creatures they take after might argue otherwise, and they are not yetis or other such things that come out in the thickest of snowfalls. What they however are the products of one derpy headmaster feeling the Christmas cheer thanks to the effects the Malnosso have put in place and him waking up very early in the morning after the snowfall last night to make said creatures. There will be various mythological snow creatures walking about today though none of them can make much noise or do much of anything, they’re pretty docile actually and if you wanted to you could probably even ride on top of them they won't mind, really! There will be a dragon with icicles for horns and teeth following Helios around as he makes his way into town. He’ll be there for a good portion of the day also making a majestic Griffin, and a snow unicorn. That’s not to say these are the only things that’ll be popping up. Other mythological creatures might be seen around as well. Phoenixes, mandrakes, minotaurs, kitsunes, Kodama in the more forested areas and even Nue. The list is really endless and well Helios has been having probably too much fun doing this. Some of them will be life sized, but nothing too extravagant or outlandish, lets say the tallest would be around ten or so feet tall, while others miniature. They’ll all be moving and just mulling about and you can be sure they’re movements are quite like the real things if you’ve ever encountered one.

They can be interacted with through the entire day with Helios sometimes in accompaniment. And later into the afternoon Helios will be found in the town square with his snowy dragon companion making your standard issued snowmen, each one getting their own complimentary hat, scarf, and pipe. He'll take a break and eventually pull out his journal for a short little network post. ]

Ah there's nothing like freshly fallen snow to make a good sturdy snowman out of, is there? I used to do it all the time back in Romania. I believe there was even a game that whoever had the best would have to make hot chocolate for everyone...with extra marshmallows. [ A thoughtful hum. ]

I was thinking...has Luceti ever had a snowman or ice sculpture competition? I've seen some extremely good ones around as of late. I think we could have a rather good turn out, quite the competition too, all in good fun though!

[ He may not be able to summon mythica into existence here, without the dangers of the side effects it would impose on his own world, but that doesn't mean he can't build them as an alternative! And because he just has to ask... ] Are there any creatures in your worlds that can control this element or are at least generally associated with it? Yuki-onna is one of the better known ones in mine. A tall and beautiful woman with black hair and blue lips. She's said to be quite cold, figuratively and literally, but she also has a more motherly and good side to her. The Snow Queen is another one, based on Yuki-onnas, and then there's even Jack Frost too. All are very similar in the fact that they deal with this element. And let's not forget Yetis, interesting beings yetis are. They have quite knowledge of mountaineering not that I expected any less of course.

[ He totally knows this from experience guys. Not like anyone is surprised anymore. ] I suppose Santa Claus can work too tis the season after all! I wonder if the people here had anyone like him? Ah, well, left to speculation at this point hm? I do hope everyone has a good holiday though, you can never get too into the spirit of things.

[ Albeit the Malnosso seem to fit that bill at times...but, no, he is not going to let the Malnosso ruin his Christmas not this year. Finally around later in the evening all the snow mythica will go back to being their snowy, sculptural selves, and can be found throughout the village in regal more natural poses. ]

[ Helios smiles nodding at the amazement being demostrated by the young girl. ]

You'll find all types here, actually. Different worlds have differing versions and the like. Of course...you can also learn a form of it as well...

[ The unicorn nods in agreement shaking its head and nudging Helios a little. ] I believe he's taken a liking towards you. [ He nods again at Pilouette. ]

I've heard about being able to learn magic here, but...Um...I haven't like, looked too much into it, I guess.

_{[She reaches a hand towards the unicorn, but pulls it back before looking up at Helios.]}

Uh, i-is it okay if I...?

Ah that's understandable. It must be very strange for people whose worlds don't have such things. Which is, of course, a factor when learning something new.

[ Still he smiles and nods. ]

Yes of course! Feel free! I think she rather likes you, actually.

_{[A grin appears across her face, but she catches herself. Oh geez, gotta act grown up here. She stands up straight, her expression a little more calm now, but it's probably not hard to see that she's just about bursting with excitement. She reaches out and gingerly rests her hand on its muzzle, barely suppressing a gleeful little giggle.]}

Wow...!

[ The unicorn shakes its mane and nudges Pilouette's hand gently. Helios smiles and pats the unicorn affectionately. ] I haven't seen you around before. Are you new here?

Um, I guess I am. I've only been here for...a month, maybe?

Ah. It's a bit strange at first. But we all take care of one another. [ He looks at Pilouette and gives her a comforting smile. ]

You seem to be doing alright for yourself.

_{[She gives a litte smile, nodding.]}

Most people I've met have been pretty nice.

Yeah! I can take of like, every day stuff pretty well. I did it a lot back home, so it's not too hard. And money kind of...well, not being a thing here helps.

Yes! We're a sympathetic bunch, we've all been in one another's shoes at some point when first arriving here.

[ Just smiling. ] The lack of, um, currency does make things easier. If not a big strange, hm? Ah! I'm Helios Sprensonne by the way it's a pleasure.

My name's Pilouette Bonheur. It's like, nice to meet you!

And, yeah, the money thing is weird, but it's not like I can really complain about it...

That's a lovely name...it sounds French, is it? [ He could be wrong he's not that well versed in French. ]

Yes it was...odd upon hearing it. [ Helios shrugs. ] But then again a self restocking grocery store and waking up with wings are far weirder.

Yeah, you're right! I was born there! But I've mostly lived in the US.

Tell me about it! Like, sometimes I'm not sure I'll ever get used to things here...

_{[She kind of hopes she won't have to but...]}

It's a beautiful country I must admit. The food and culture are especially delightful. [ Helios chuckles. ]

I'm not sure I have either despite being here for almost two years myself. [ There were somethings about home that you just couldn't let go of. And yet Luceti had worked itself into Helios' heart and mind as a second one. ]

T-Two years...!

_{[Every time she meets another person, it almost seems as if they've each been here longer than the last she met. And each time she hears about someone being in Luceti for such a long stretch of time the less certain she is that she'll get home.]}

_{[However, she doesn't like the idea of letting someone, an adult especially, know how worried she is about this, as if she were some homesick child. Which, she really kind of is, not that she'll admit it. Instead, she forces a little smile and looks up at him.]}

S-So, um, you know a lot about France, right? Did you used to travel before you ended up here?

[ Oh dear. Her reaction to that is ever so distressing. Being away from home must be making her homesick and with good reason, the poor dear. ] It differs for everyone. The time span of how long we're kept here is always indefinite. S-Some people have gone home in months. [ His tone is a bit dour, sad even, as he says that. Giles was sent home only a few months of being here. But this time it's longer, different. ]

As for that, yes, I did travel quite a lot back home. [ He genuinely smiles remembering his trip to France to find the ever elusive Bugul Noz. ] And how could I not? With all the amazing places and people to meet? Traveling is one of the best ways to do it!

...Well, I guess there's not use in me worrying about getting home. As far as I can tell, there's nothing I can do about it anyway.

B-But, maybe when I do get home, I'll try traveling, too! Well, when I can, anyway. I bet it would be really exciting, huh?

Ah I suppose that's true. [ Helios frowns just a little at that. Still it must be saddening to not be around family and friends. But no! Happy thoughts he will keep this conversation happy! ]

Oh yes! Traveling is very exciting. [ Especially when you forgo the planes and use teleportation to get around. ] The anticipation of seeing someplace you've never seen or finally getting to visit somewhere you've only dreamed about. It's an experience no matter how many times you do it.

You make it sound like so much fun~!

_{[She thinks for a moment before a smile forms on her face.]}

That's it, then! When I get home, maybe I'll ask Daddy if I can go on one of his trips with him!

Oh it is! Very much so, at least I've found it to be!

[ Helios smiles as well. ]

You father travels a lot for his work then?

Yeah. He's always having to go back to France on business trips, but I usually have school and stuff, so...you know. I can't really go with. I'd miss a ton of class if I did.

[ Helios thinks for a moment. ] You know...there is a way to bring France here. The battledome! That's right! You must try the battledome sometime!

You can make it portray places you've seen and been. [ Helios' smile widens. ] Perhaps I could show you a little bit of France!

W-whoa...R-really?!

The only part of France I've ever really seen is Lille, so that would really cool~!

_{[At this point, shes too excited to even try to to hold back.]}

Yes! Really! It's quite...handy actually for cases like this. [ And besides it'll give Helios an incentive to actually go to the place. Because he hasn't really ever stepped foot into the Battledome. Him and technology do not mix. ]

Just from the sound of it, it doesn't sound like the kind of place I'd normally go, but if it can do stuff like that...!
