folklorist | ϡ - Chapter Thirty; Winter Wonderland antics [Voice|Action]

[ Good morning Luceti if you’re in town today, and probably in the surrounding areas as well, you’ll notice some large lumbering pure white figures walking about some might even be flying. No, no, they aren’t harmful in the least, although the creatures they take after might argue otherwise, and they are not yetis or other such things that come out in the thickest of snowfalls. What they however are the products of one derpy headmaster feeling the Christmas cheer thanks to the effects the Malnosso have put in place and him waking up very early in the morning after the snowfall last night to make said creatures. There will be various mythological snow creatures walking about today though none of them can make much noise or do much of anything, they’re pretty docile actually and if you wanted to you could probably even ride on top of them they won't mind, really! There will be a dragon with icicles for horns and teeth following Helios around as he makes his way into town. He’ll be there for a good portion of the day also making a majestic Griffin, and a snow unicorn. That’s not to say these are the only things that’ll be popping up. Other mythological creatures might be seen around as well. Phoenixes, mandrakes, minotaurs, kitsunes, Kodama in the more forested areas and even Nue. The list is really endless and well Helios has been having probably too much fun doing this. Some of them will be life sized, but nothing too extravagant or outlandish, lets say the tallest would be around ten or so feet tall, while others miniature. They’ll all be moving and just mulling about and you can be sure they’re movements are quite like the real things if you’ve ever encountered one.

They can be interacted with through the entire day with Helios sometimes in accompaniment. And later into the afternoon Helios will be found in the town square with his snowy dragon companion making your standard issued snowmen, each one getting their own complimentary hat, scarf, and pipe. He'll take a break and eventually pull out his journal for a short little network post. ]

Ah there's nothing like freshly fallen snow to make a good sturdy snowman out of, is there? I used to do it all the time back in Romania. I believe there was even a game that whoever had the best would have to make hot chocolate for everyone...with extra marshmallows. [ A thoughtful hum. ]

I was thinking...has Luceti ever had a snowman or ice sculpture competition? I've seen some extremely good ones around as of late. I think we could have a rather good turn out, quite the competition too, all in good fun though!

[ He may not be able to summon mythica into existence here, without the dangers of the side effects it would impose on his own world, but that doesn't mean he can't build them as an alternative! And because he just has to ask... ] Are there any creatures in your worlds that can control this element or are at least generally associated with it? Yuki-onna is one of the better known ones in mine. A tall and beautiful woman with black hair and blue lips. She's said to be quite cold, figuratively and literally, but she also has a more motherly and good side to her. The Snow Queen is another one, based on Yuki-onnas, and then there's even Jack Frost too. All are very similar in the fact that they deal with this element. And let's not forget Yetis, interesting beings yetis are. They have quite knowledge of mountaineering not that I expected any less of course.

[ He totally knows this from experience guys. Not like anyone is surprised anymore. ] I suppose Santa Claus can work too tis the season after all! I wonder if the people here had anyone like him? Ah, well, left to speculation at this point hm? I do hope everyone has a good holiday though, you can never get too into the spirit of things.

[ Albeit the Malnosso seem to fit that bill at times...but, no, he is not going to let the Malnosso ruin his Christmas not this year. Finally around later in the evening all the snow mythica will go back to being their snowy, sculptural selves, and can be found throughout the village in regal more natural poses. ]

Oh, yes. My husband's a dragoon; warriors that bond with dragons. A snow dragon like this would be sure to get his attention!

Really? That sounds fascinating! If he's around he's certainly welcome to drop on by.

[ Helios doesn't mind in the least. A person who forms a bond with a dragon must be quite powerful indeed. ]

I'm sure he must be.

[In fact, she's flipping her journal open to scrawl a quick message about getting over here pronto. That done, she tucks it back.]

What else do you have in mind? Will he have a mate?

A-A mate? [ Pft oh my. Helios didn't even think about that of all things. ] I suppose I could make another one for him. It must be lonely being the only snow dragon in Luceti, hm?

[ He gives the dragon an affectionate pat on the neck. ] I-I've made a few other things. Phoenixes, kitsunes and other things.

I'll have to look out for them, then! And that mate, if you feel up to giving him a family.

...can I pet him?

[Sure, it's just a snow dragon, but...hey. Why not.]

You could help build it if you'd like?

[ He doesn't mind, really! The more the merrier. Helios blinks and then looks at dragon then Rydia. ] Oh! Yes of course!

[ The dragon as if reacting and understanding Helios' words moves towards Rydia lowering its head as it moves closer. ]

[Flashing a bright smile, she reaches out to do so with a gloved hand.]

I would love to, Helios! It's been a while since I've helped with snow art, and to see it animate...well. How can I say no?

Wonderful! I do enjoy it myself but it's always nice to have helping hands. Makes it more enjoyable in my opinion.

[ He will go off to the side of the snow dragon and Rydia to start making a mound. The dragon meanwhile will obligingly let Rydia pet it and whatever else she wants to do. It's tail swishing back and fort behind it, almost as if it's enjoying the petting. ]

[She spends a few more moments petting, since when does she get to meet a snow dragon that often? But as she did promise her help, Rydia manages to tear her attention away in time to help Helios in his efforts.]

[ And with their combine efforts and a snow dragon watching them all the while they'll eventually make a smaller, more slender, but just as detailed dragon. Helios will draw a symbol on the female dragon and soon it'll flare to life, much like its counterpart. The snowy wings will outstretch and Helios looks at it quite pleased. ]

There! I think she'll do, hm?

[Rydia stands back as Helios puts on that finishing touch and admires the view.]

Oh, she's lovely.

[She glances to the first dragon and grins.]

See? Now you're not alone.

[ The new dragon shakes its head and nods in silent agreement. With settling its wings it'll walk over to the other dragon. Helios will dust his gloves free of any clinging snow. ]

Yes he at least will have some company in the meantime. [ Just a derpy smile. ] Perhaps I should make some little ones too. [ Just have a whole dragon family! ]

I'd be glad to continue offering my assistance in that! Staying outside to create a snow dragon family is a worthy cause.

It certainly is. [ Helios smiles brightly back at Rydia. ] We should name them too I think.

[She nods, her smile turning a bit wistful.]

Hm...Shiva? She's the Ice Queen, an Eidolon from back home. I don't think she would mind her name being passed on.

Shiva works wonderfully! I think she might be proud to it having passed on to such a creation. She's quite the powerful deity in my world...Shiva the destroyer. [ A thoughtful hum. If they're going to name them... ]

Kuraokami could work for him. [ he nods to his original dragon smirking as it tilts its head curiously back at Helios. ] He's a snow and rain dragon in my world after all.

[Her smile turns bright again as she nods in approval.]

It suits him, as it suits Shiva.

It most certainly does. Perhaps we could try making some of your own beings from your world next?

[ It'd be interesting and Helios certainly has the time to spare. It might even be fun! ]

[Rydia stares in surprise for a moment, but nods, quickly taking to the idea.]

Perhaps hummingway, or sylphs? Something cute that I can show Elicia and Eiko.

I haven't heard of a hummingway before, unfortunately. It makes me think of a hummingbird though. I do know what a sylph is however. [ Helios smiles. ] Maybe both.

[She flips open her journal again and shows him the sketch she made a while back.]

That's a hummingway. They're sweet and helpful. The sylphs of my world are small, winged fey that have wind magic. They can be helpful, too, at least to the right people.

[ Helios nods. ] Yes sylphs are exactly that for my world as well.

But oh! They're rather cute! [ Helios smiles looking at the sketch. ] I don't think it'll be any trouble at all to make it out of snow.

[Rydia grins brightly.]

Can you imagine one meeting Elicia? They're almost as big as she is!

[ Helios laughs at that. He's heard of Elicia before over the journals several times now, but has never had the chance to speak with the young girl. ]

It would certainly be a sight to see. She sounds like a very sweet, bright, little girl. I think that, in and of itself, warrants making one.

[She's quick to agree, of course, given that it was her idea.]
