ϡ - Chapter Thirty; Winter Wonderland antics [Voice|Action]

[ Good morning Luceti if you’re in town today, and probably in the surrounding areas as well, you’ll notice some large lumbering pure white figures walking about some might even be flying. No, no, they aren’t harmful in the least, although the creatures they take after might argue otherwise, and they are not yetis or other such things that come out in the thickest of snowfalls. What they however are the products of one derpy headmaster feeling the Christmas cheer thanks to the effects the Malnosso have put in place and him waking up very early in the morning after the snowfall last night to make said creatures. There will be various mythological snow creatures walking about today though none of them can make much noise or do much of anything, they’re pretty docile actually and if you wanted to you could probably even ride on top of them they won't mind, really! There will be a dragon with icicles for horns and teeth following Helios around as he makes his way into town. He’ll be there for a good portion of the day also making a majestic Griffin, and a snow unicorn. That’s not to say these are the only things that’ll be popping up. Other mythological creatures might be seen around as well. Phoenixes, mandrakes, minotaurs, kitsunes, Kodama in the more forested areas and even Nue. The list is really endless and well Helios has been having probably too much fun doing this. Some of them will be life sized, but nothing too extravagant or outlandish, lets say the tallest would be around ten or so feet tall, while others miniature. They’ll all be moving and just mulling about and you can be sure they’re movements are quite like the real things if you’ve ever encountered one.

They can be interacted with through the entire day with Helios sometimes in accompaniment. And later into the afternoon Helios will be found in the town square with his snowy dragon companion making your standard issued snowmen, each one getting their own complimentary hat, scarf, and pipe. He'll take a break and eventually pull out his journal for a short little network post. ]

Ah there's nothing like freshly fallen snow to make a good sturdy snowman out of, is there? I used to do it all the time back in Romania. I believe there was even a game that whoever had the best would have to make hot chocolate for everyone...with extra marshmallows. [ A thoughtful hum. ]

I was thinking...has Luceti ever had a snowman or ice sculpture competition? I've seen some extremely good ones around as of late. I think we could have a rather good turn out, quite the competition too, all in good fun though!

[ He may not be able to summon mythica into existence here, without the dangers of the side effects it would impose on his own world, but that doesn't mean he can't build them as an alternative! And because he just has to ask... ] Are there any creatures in your worlds that can control this element or are at least generally associated with it? Yuki-onna is one of the better known ones in mine. A tall and beautiful woman with black hair and blue lips. She's said to be quite cold, figuratively and literally, but she also has a more motherly and good side to her. The Snow Queen is another one, based on Yuki-onnas, and then there's even Jack Frost too. All are very similar in the fact that they deal with this element. And let's not forget Yetis, interesting beings yetis are. They have quite knowledge of mountaineering not that I expected any less of course.

[ He totally knows this from experience guys. Not like anyone is surprised anymore. ] I suppose Santa Claus can work too tis the season after all! I wonder if the people here had anyone like him? Ah, well, left to speculation at this point hm? I do hope everyone has a good holiday though, you can never get too into the spirit of things.

[ Albeit the Malnosso seem to fit that bill at times...but, no, he is not going to let the Malnosso ruin his Christmas not this year. Finally around later in the evening all the snow mythica will go back to being their snowy, sculptural selves, and can be found throughout the village in regal more natural poses. ]

I guess I avoid it when I can. It's not a very nice place.

...One day then. Not now, but one day. It would... Well, it'd explain things about me, about Alice.

[She resumes walking.]

All our worlds explain things about us in some way, shape or form. It might not be the best way and it might not have been the wave we wished for it to happen. Even my own.

[ There's an unspoken one day he might explain things about his skin, about who those flowers were for those few months ago. The silence that follows is profound as Helios walks with Ginia, watching Odin run through the snow like an overgrown puppy. He stops when they come face to face with one of his unicorns. ]

Oh! I believe we've hit an obstacle.

[She laughs, smiles faintly.] We are the products of the world around us. It's what makes us so unique and amazing.

[Ginia makes a quiet "hm?" as they stop, gently reaching out in front of her to feel what may be there. The unicorn bows its head and moves in just enough for Ginia to touch its snowy muzzle. Odin eyes it warily, hopping about as he tries to form an opinion on the snow beast.]

Oh! Hello there. [She gently pats her way up the muzzle until she reaches the horn.] Oh! A unicorn? O-or a kirin?

Unique, amazing, and unfortunately I wouldn't have it any other way.

[ Helios chuckles watching Odin, Ginia and the unicorn with amusement. ] A unicorn. I didn't get a chance to make a Kirin unfortunately.

[ Just a smile as he goes to pet the snow sculpture as well. ] Are there any mythologies you'd like to see, when, when it finally comes back?

[ Or should he surprise you? ]

Nor would I.

[She'd be squeeing more if she could see it, but there's still some happy giddiness about her. A unicorn! Imagine that.] Hello, unicorn. How are you today?

Oh... anything. Surprise me. Though wait, a dragon might be fun to see.

Surprise you, hm. I do think I could manage that, quite easily. A surprise you shall receive then! Kuraokami and Shiva are around here somewhere...I'll have to remember how I went about making those two. Albeit Rydia did help with Shiva before.

Kuraokami and Shiva? Ah, snow dragons?

Oh! Yes! Snow dragons. They've gotten quite the attention today actually. [ Helios obviously didn't think they would because he sounds almost shocked about this. ]

I think I should make this a Luceti tradition. Snow mythica... [ hm. ]

I'm not surprised at all. I'm sure all the snow mythica are getting ample attention.

I think it'd be a lovely tradition.

Some of the attention has been...good. Others well...lets just say that next time I'll be sure to make a note that they're not hostile over the journals. I think Luceti can use some more traditions that aren't experiment induced anyway.

Oh dear, did someone attack these poor creatures? And there is something nice about making our own traditions to pass down.

Yes! Can you imagine? I-I guess they were more jarring than I had anticipated. I-I really should have realized what with Luceti and the Malnosso. A-An oversight and my mistake. [ He frowns. ]

There is. It makes being here a bit more...substantial I think. N-Not that m-many people would actually find that to be a good thing. [ But with nowhere else to go or be...Helios thinks it could be a good little tradition in the end. ]

That poor snow creature, though you can't blame yourself. An accident, I'm sure.

[Ginia nods in agreement, still happily petting away at the snow unicorn.] Opinions are quite varied, but it's as it should be. Everyone has a good argument for wanting to stay or leave.

N-No I think...I think he rather enjoyed doing it actually. [ Which Helios isn't sure how to feel about Eggman's apparent joy in melting his unicorn. ]

Of course. Everyone has something back home. [ Whether that something is good or bad is for people to determine for themselves. Helios' thoughts are abruptly interrupted as Kuraokami's snout bumps into him to get his attention. Ginia might feel him stumble because unfortunately snow sculptures have a way with slient footfalls making them ever so hard to hear. ] Ah!

[A frown.] Why would anyone do a thing like that? It's not very nice. [Right, because not everyone is nice.]

I think it'd be fun having more traditions from all the worlds here. We seem to cover a lot of Earth holidays, but that's not very fair to everyone who isn't from Earth, is it. [She starts a little when Helios stumbles, following before regaining her balance.] What is it?

I-I'm not sure. He, um, seemed to like doing it however. [ Right everyone isn't nice. And not everyone would see them in the same light. ] Oh! It's just, um a dragon. Kuraokami actually.

[ Helios laughs as the dragon nudges him a little again. And he goes to stroke the dragon's snout with a gloved hand. ] As for celebrating other traditions I wouldn't mind that at all. I think it'd be very interesting. But, ah, being a folklorist like myself learning about cultures is what I do, you know?

[Snow dragon! Eeee! Ginia turns, holding her hand out to find where the snow dragon is.] Hello, Kuraokami. Having a nice day?

I think that's such a fascinating and wonderful job.

[ Kuroakami will bring his head in closer and nearer so that Ginia doesn't have to try as hard to find him. He will nuzzle that open hand of hers with a cold snowy snout. ]

It...it is. I've met some wonderful beings in my short time as one. Being a headmaster has also opened me up to several different people as well. Together they're both a bit time consuming, yes, but what can I? I do love the jobs and the experiences they both bring.

[ Helios muses for a bit. ] I should probably make use of that battle dome thing more. I-I'm just...afraid I'll break something.

[Ah! There he is. Ginia will pet gently, learning the general layout of his face. A snow dragon! Amazing.]

It's always wonderful meeting new people and traveling around. I suppose it's one of the benefits of my job at home. Great travel perks.

[ Kuraokami would purr affectionately if he could. Instead he'll just nuzzle against Ginia's hand. ]

It certainly is. The people, their cultures and ways of life. It's all rather fascinating to see how differently people do things from one another.

But, ah, I think that would-would be nice. I-I'd appreciate that.

I think it's some of the beauty of the world. Even if there's fighting and conflict because of different ideologies, all cultures are so beautiful.

Of course. We can begin lessons once my eyesight returns. It's really quite simple.

Yes unfortunately the one thing that probably won't ever be fixed is the wars and conflicts. But one can certainly hope, correct? And we can try our best to m-make things better ourselves.

[ Helios is going to start making another snowman. ] I'd love that, thank you Ginia. I-I'll try to be a decent student b-but, but well I'm not very good with technology to be frank. These journals still give me trouble. [ And he's been here for almost two years. ]

Yes we can. Protect those who can't protect themselves. [Her smile waves slightly before she shrugs off memories and ill-feelings.]

If I can learn magic, then you can learn how to set up something in the Battle Dome. And really now? What part?

And somehow try to mediate between people. But as for the journals...the, um, filtering I suppose. I-I never know how to do it really.

Oh! Well, I can do a better job showing you once my eyesight is back, but some people use a puzzle to code the filter. I prefer using a thirty to forty character passcode for mine. There's four I rotate through.
