[ The transmission is silent, for some time, but it’s most likely because Helios doesn’t notice it’s on. The sounds of pages turning in a book are the only source of noise to be recognized. He'll give a long sigh. ] Mushi seem to have disappeared as well.

Oh! It’s on- [ He sighs again because he really needs to be more wary of this thing. Why so scatter brained Helios? ]

Hm. [ Tap. Tap. Tap. ] What method or means does magic come from in each of your respective worlds? Are people naturally predisposed to having powers, or are there means to which you may gain them?

In my world you have to have some natural talent and then you can learn magic by teaching yourself or with a teacher. Even with that, no one can learn every spell that exists.

Has anyone ever tried? I know there's a good deal of spells in my world as well. Learning all of them takes years and years of practice unless you're something of a prodigy.

About your question though, just all depends on what you consider 'magic' or 'powers' and stuff like that!

[ A pause as he considers that. ] Well I suppose things one would call supernatural, but here I guess that term shouldn't be used, haha! Magic, as in creating fire without a lighter or gas, and ice without cold or water. Things like that.

I was born with mine, the only one in my entire family to have magic of any kind. It's not possible to gain it where I'm from.

The only one in your family? Interesting, usually most are fully magical families in my case. Though I suppose it does depend on who you end up with!

Mostly it's something that's innate but there are outside factors as well.

My gods and goddesses blessed me with mine, but most of the other humans on Earth acquired it through something called a metagene. There are still other forms of magic other than these, though.

Ah you're from Earth too then? Ha! Fascinating, I've never heard of metagene though. But being blessed by the gods, my that is something.

It's possible for people to learn magic in my world. Some may have a talent for it, but no one has it to begin with. My people traditionally learn magic from a young age, so I can see why we might be seen as naturally predisposed.

You might have something there. Magic does define us in a sense.

Materia. It's a tool we use to cast spells. Pretty much anybody can use them.

Our magic relies on mana, the source of all life in our world.

Ah Regal how are you? It's been awhile since we last spoke! Mana...mana where have I heard that-

[ A pause then a sharp intake of breath. ] Ah! That's right! Some cultures in my world use that term! It's considered to be a spiritual quality that has supernatural origins and therefore people who had this mana were able to preform in given situations.
