Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven…oh there’s no more sugar left. Hmm I’ll have to pick some up later.

[ The transmission is silent, for some time, but it’s most likely because Helios doesn’t notice it’s on. The sounds of pages turning in a book are the only source of noise to be recognized. He'll give a long sigh. ] Mushi seem to have disappeared as well.

Oh! It’s on- [ He sighs again because he really needs to be more wary of this thing. Why so scatter brained Helios? ]

Hm. [ Tap. Tap. Tap. ] What method or means does magic come from in each of your respective worlds? Are people naturally predisposed to having powers, or are there means to which you may gain them?

[Naoki hums deep in his throat, nodding quietly in agreement and then looking over at him. He takes in his expression.]

Are you okay, Helios?

Oh! What- Yes! Fine, I'm fine! [ He laughs a bit nervously rubbing the back of his head as he sits back in his chair, eyes closing. ]

[Naoki's voice lowers a little.] If you want to talk about anything, I'm here.

[ He sighs pinching the bridge of his nose with a forefinger and thumb. ] W-Well it's just, ah-I too have a day coming up as well you see. But it's nothing to really worry about. [ Pause. ]

Besides you came here such a dour state I wouldn't want to make it any worse with my own problems.

[That gets a quiet smile. (We're pretty alike that way, then.)] Don't worry about that, Helios.

I'm not gonna nag at you to share, just...know that I'll listen, if you ever want to.

[ Helios will smile nodding back at the other. ]

Thank you Naoki. That means a lot, truly it does. It's just- [ He'll stop in his response shaking his head as he slowly gets up out of his chair. ]

hard you know? I've never really spoken about it. Never told anyone about it actually, but sometimes it's better to let it out, isn't it?

I understand... [He rests his arms on his knees, chin propped on them.]

And it really is hard. I...kept a lot of things to myself before coming here--but I found talking to friends helped a lot.

Yes talking things out is certainly for the best. Things like this...will eat you up on the inside, at least that's what a friend of mine in my world told me.

It's just... [ He'll let out a shaky sigh. ] people's perceptions might change from it.

[He shifts a little, looks down.]

I have things like that, too, that I've never told anyone because I'm afraid of how they'll think of me afterward. But it's...no good to let yourself be too afraid, I think. [A tiny laugh.]

[ He laughs but it's rather empty. ]

You're probably right it's better to discuss these things with people then to let it eat away at you. [ He pauses for a few moments, thinking most likely. It looks like he's debating on the matter, his expression alluding to his inner concerns and thoughts. ]

It-it was someone very dear to me.

[Naoki watches him quietly, with concern, folding his hands together. He nods slightly, indicating that he's listening.]

[ His eyes are distant as if remembering something like it was only yesterday. That memory, that occurrence is always fresh in his mind though. He'll run a hand through his hair, sighing and shaking his head. ]

If only I had listened to her. If I wasn't so stupidly ambitious back then.

[Naoki makes a small, worried sound, leaning his arm on his knees.]

What happened...?

It wasn't supposed to happen. It was...it was just a simple summoning spell. [ He lets out a sigh. Hands clenching and wringing together in order to keep so semblance of calm. ]

[There's a slight hesitance, before Naoki reaches out to place a supportive hand on his shoulder.]

[ There might be a slight involuntary twitch at that action, but Helios will look back at Naoki with a warm smile. ]

I might not be able to change what I've done...but the school, it was my-no our dream. I won't let that go to waste not after everything.

[Naoki lowers his hand after a moment with a quiet smile.] That you're not going to let it...it's good.

[ He'll nod and look back at Naoki. ] You think so? It's not much but...she wouldn't want me to not go through with it.

I do think so. [He smiles a little at him.] You guys' dream, after all...

Mm. I-ah thank you, Naoki...for listening. [ He pauses looking at nothing in particular but there is a different air about him than before. Almost appreciative and a bit more open. ]

Thank you, for talking to me. [It's said in a soft tone, mixed between gratitude and fondness.]
