Orenji stretches his head out to look at Luminair, also reaching out a paw to light bat at him. Strange thing, why do you not have fur?]
Mandatory training session for the crew. I had to show up. [She gestures at her crutches.] Though if I'm still on them when we set sail, I'll have to stay back. I don't want to get in anyone's way. Pity... did want to sail. [The words are more to herself as her smile fades slightly. But she quickly snaps out of it.] Mind if I go with you when you look?
[She raises her brow.] I'm not entirely convinced by that frown. Everything okay?
no subject
Helios' frown only deepens with that. ] Do you think...s-some more of Nala's magic might help? It, it would be dreadful if you had to...to miss the first time they go out with it. And of course you can come. You don't even have to ask. [ He looks down at Luminair petting him gently and feeling the scales beneath his fingers. He'll blink, shake his head and smile. ]
Oh! Y-Yes I'm, I'm perfectly fine. I wanted to try to make it fly. The MAV I mean. I-I wonder if, if I could get it to work... [ there's an unspoken before Giles gets back. ]

Ginia's fingers scratch Orenji's ears as an effort to keep the kitten calm as her eyes glance down at her leg.] It might, though I don't want you to tire yourself out. And it's not that I doubt your abilities, but Law suggests I take it easy and let it heal naturally. Muscle and all, wouldn't want anything to go wrong.
[She doesn't quite believe him and wonders if it has to do with the last experiment. It was something they would have to address eventually, but talking about The MAV felt like a much better topic. She laughs quietly at the idea. An airship. Why not?] Maybe it's a good thing I ordered an auto-repair for the boat. [So she teases, but if someone could find a spell or means of making a ship fly? It would certainly be Helios.]

But Helios will frown slightly as he pets Luminair smirking a little at the two of them. ] Oh. You really don't have to worry about that Ginia. I'll be quite alright. But...I understand your concern. Letting it heal naturally is probably for the best. Y-You got it taken care of before anything could go wrong s-so it should heal up just fine. [ He might unconsciously rub at his damaged palm a twinge of pain going through his arm as he does so. It's been months but it still aches and hurts. A small sad smile as he looks back at her. ] I'm sure it'll be fine.
[ Helios' expression however will turn embarrassed when she says that. ] Oh it'll be fine! I-I'll make sure I have the spell preplanned and everything. Though having an auto-repair on it will make it easier to test on... [ just a teasing. He'd never do that even if it did have the capacity of fixing itself. ]

Ginia can't help glancing at Helios' hand. October was so long ago, but every time she sees his hand, she thinks about that night. Was there anything she could have done that night? The night after? She knows it's not healthy dwelling on the past, but the thoughts are there. Or maybe she should have insisted she have someone look at his hand, someone who wouldn't ask questions and could help him.] I suppose this is life's way of telling me to relax and take it easy for a bit.
[She laughs quietly and shakes her head. Oh, Helios...] If anything breaks, I promise no one else will know.
no subject
Ah yes his hand. He should have taken care of it more, better, what have you. He should have gone to the clinic or to someone who could help. Thinking back on it, it was to preserve Giles' integrity more or less. He didn't want the other to be painted in a bad light and what sort of excuse could he have come up with about such an injury? At the time, seeking out help wasn't possible. But now that he can barely do much with his hand? He has second guesses as to whether he made the right decision. ] I would have rather it have told in a less violent of manner, but yes. I think you need to be taking it easy for a bit. Pardon me if it's a bit assuming on my part but, well, you have been overworking yourself. You're almost as bad as Adele when I found her asleep at the fountain.
[ This prompts Helios to look away and out the window briefly. That conversation hadn't quite gone where he had intended it to. Spouting all that out in the open about Nero. It made his stomach drop just thinking about it and he face might pale slightly. ] I haven't been giving the MAV as much attention as it needs. So no need to worry about me destroying it anytime soon.
[ A deeper sadness is etched into those words even under the guise of a teasing remark. He might be avoiding it for the sole fact that it hurts to even see it. Giles. He still misses the other even now. Even after two months... ]

Ginia glances down at her leg, bandages still wrapped around her thigh under her skirt. Her hand rests lightly on it, gingerly tracing the deep cuts slashed into them. Drusilla. The one person to shatter Ginia's image of the quiet, peaceful Luceti nights. It could have gone so much worse. If she'd watched those hands, those eyes, if she hadn't run when she did. There's a moment when she loses herself in the memory of that night, only snapping out when she realizes Helios is talking.] Huh? Aha, yes, right. Though I will argue I'm not as bad as Adele. I haven't fallen asleep and even I'm not stupid enough to start my day at 4.
[Her expression softens as she watches him. Two months and she's really no better. Still in love, still missing him. Moved on a little, but still wanting him around.]
It's another cycle next month. And... his birthday too. [Her's as well, but details.]
no subject
Helios watches her carefully knowing this subject is a sore and painful one for the both of them. But Helios can put aside his own and take care of Ginia when he has to. Giles would have wanted that and he pretty sure he told Ginia to take care him and herself as well. One of which she wasn't doing. ] Still. You have to relax once in awhile Ginia. You'll...you'll just run yourself into the ground if you don't. I know because...I've done it before.
[ For the same reasons. Losing someone you love hurts more than anything. Losing your soulmate doubly so. A small sigh as he shakes his head.
He'll look down at the table a small smile on his features. ] We have to celebrate. A small party, some close friends and cake. [ Giles isn't fond of big extravagant things after all. ]

Ginia sighs and rests her head in her hand. He has a valid point, and she knows it. It was one of her worst habits, throwing herself into job after job, keeping herself busy at all times as a distraction. It was a lousy excuse and even if it worked, she knew it was bad for her. Back in her own world, she maybe had excuses for it. Life was short, might as well get the most out of it before a sniper ended your life out of the blue. Oh, Erika.]
I know. [Her voice is quiet as she folds her arms on the table and rests her head on them.] Maybe I've been running so long, I don't remember how to stop. My life back home, one job after another, always staying busy, always staying... alive. [Her eyes glance at her hands, then at Helios.] ...I'm sorry you had to see that.
no subject
Helios watches her all the while, unawares of the playful nature his dragon is taking on. Unawares of much of anything at the moment aside from Ginia and her own problems. It was only a matter of time before he talked to her about it, probably should have done so sooner, but really he had no right. He was much the same way back when. When Ra had told him to sit down and take it easy before he passed out or some such thing. He wanted so hard to push away the pain that he just...overworked himself to exhaustion to forget the sorrow of losing something so precious.
He'll reach out an tentatively give her shoulder a small reassuring squeeze just to let her know he's listening, let her know he understands. ] You have nothing to apologize for. It's the world you were born into. You're just...trying to live in it the best you can. I'm sorry I can't...I couldn't do more to help.
no subject
How much... do you remember? Or is... is there anything you want to talk about? I know it was quite the change for you.
no subject
Only...only bits and pieces now. I know that...that I helped get through something terrible. [ He purses his lips looking down at the table. Erika. The name feels like a faint echo now but the feelings are still resonating strongly. So many things were different in that world. Nero didn't abuse him, hate him for whatever reason, they were actually brothers like they were meant to be. And then there was Elise. ] I'm sorry, for what happened to her.
no subject
[Ginia rests her arms on the table and looks out the window, taking a moment to gather up her thoughts. It was a nice day, sunny, no rain, nice. A pleasant break from yesterday's overcast weather and the rain over the weekend.]
Her name was Erika. Erika Rosenfel. She was... my best friend and my partner. We meet as teens. Sixteen and already a hunter... [How wrong was her world when teenagers could be killers and criminals because it was the family trade?] She helped me so much after my family was killed. I ended up working with her until she was killed. I... [her hands fold together and she covers her mouth, gathering up her thoughts again.] fell apart. Threw myself into work, even began thinking... [She takes a steadying breath and shakes her head.]
...Today's her birthday. She always told people it was April Fools, but it's really today. She'd be 29. [There's another laugh, weak and tired.] ...Sorry, didn't mean to get on this topic at all.
no subject
There's nothing t-to be sorry for. So, please, d-don't apologize. E-Especially to me... [ he who dumped the fact that Elise had died on her in a similar fashion. Never topics to bring up but oh how they unexpectedly emerged. He can only guess what she was about to say and gods he wishes he couldn't. Taking your life because the pain was all but unbearable and you didn't think you could ever move on or recover. He knows what that kind of pain leads to, what kind of thoughts. He looks at her with all the compassion and understanding he can muster. ] You...you should plant something for her. In, in the memory garden.
[ There's a feeble smile from him. ] It helps at times.
no subject
She smiles faintly at Helios, appreciating his words and understanding. They'd both been through a lot. Maybe too much, but so went life. Even Ginia knew others had it worse than her. Wasn't that why she fought? Why she even killed? To stop anyone else from going through the things she did?]
I was thinking about that. Alice planted tulips for her, I've planted buttercups for her. But... maybe going back later would be nice.
