[Strange. Alice woke up in the hammock set up in the training room and looked around. Things were peaceful, good, nice and quiet even. There was no reason for her to be out. She slipped out of the hammock - almost falling out in the process - and gave a long stretch, letting all the kinks in her back pop out. Spotting Ginia's necklace sitting on a book, she slipped it on then left the room to see if anyone else was around the house. Someone had to have answers, right?]

[ Helios is home today making himself so tea and pancakes. It's a nice enough day, peaceful, quiet, good. It's been a rough few weeks for everyone in the house Ginia especially. And he's...feeling surprisingly good today despite all that. He misses the fact he doesn't have cold skin and with Valentine's Day just around the corner he knows the Malnosso are planning something...

Still if Alice walks by the kitchen she'll hear the humming and bustling of one derpy headmaster in the kitchen. And you can't resist the smell of those pancakes, eggs and maybe even some bacon. A delicious breakfast for a nice Sunday morning. ]

[Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, Alice has no idea what day it is or what holiday is coming up. The smell of food is quite alluring and she makes her way downstairs, Odin quietly padding along behind her. Reaching the kitchen, she stops by the entrance, a smile slowly crossing her face.

Yes, that's right. That's why she's out. Because she wants to spend time with Helios. A happy, cheerful feeling wells inside her as she watches, waiting for that perfect moment when his back is turned and he's safely away from any burners before she strikes. On quiet feet, she sneaks forward and hugs him from behind, face nuzzling into his neck and giving the occasional affective nibble, not minding the cold at all.]

Morning, sunbeam. Breakfast for me?

[ Helios gives a small surprised yelp stiffening somewhat as that sneak attack. But he turns his expression of surprise and slight trepidation washing away as he notes who it is by the tone of voice, what she's done, and what she's just called him. He'll smile as he looks over his shoulder not moving an inch as she nibbles and nuzzles against him each affectionate motion getting a shiver out of him. ] I was hoping to get everything ready before you got up.

[ He turns then, fully around to face her. He has the most content and happy expression on his face as he looks at her it's absolutely lovestruck. He'll run a cool hand through her hair before giving her a kiss a top her forehead. ] Did you have a nice sleep?

[Her own expression remains slightly reserved as she faces him, but it's no less loving. Being loved and wanted by such a wonderful man, it's taken time for all of that to sink in. It's still sinking in, but she's getting better. Alice loosens her grip slightly to let him breathe again, but remains close to him.]

I did, though I can't imagine why Ginia's sleeping in a hammock. But I'll sleep even better tonight next to you.

[ Helios' posture relaxes slightly as she lets go of him. It's not as tense or shut off as it normally would be, not at all, it's more along the opposite actually. He's gotten used to the feeling of having Alice embrace him and its helped with him getting over his phobias and fears of touching. Still it's so strange to have...someone want him, someone like Alice especially but he...he doesn't mind it in the least. ] Mm I can't promise anything but I do believe a bed is, ah, m-much better than a hammock when it comes to two people.

[ Just a wry smile as he turns back to the bacon and pancakes and eggs on the counter-top. ] Much more space after all.

No, you're probably right. I doubt we'll sleep much. [She grins and releases him, though not before giving his rear a small squeeze. But there's food and it looks delicious and yummy. Alice grabs a piece of bacon and munches away on it.]

It's really good.

[ Helios gives small yelp of surprise at that his face going slightly red and well...he's a bit excited at that prospect okay? ] Oh is that right? Pray tell what are we going to stay up all night doing then? [ He has his own playful smirk on his features as he asks that. Because he knows the answer he's just teasing.

He'll come over and take his own piece of bacon nibbling on it thoughtfully. ] I'm glad you approve. It needs...syrup. [ Lots of syrup and sugar. ]

Do you want anything to drink? Coffee, tea, orange juice?

[Alice smirks, still munching away on the piece of bacon. She knows he knows, but she can tease right back.] Do you really want to know? I could tell you. Or maybe leave it a surprise.

Orange juice sounds good, thanks. [Oh, wait, no, no, he's been busy cooking all morning. She should help out.] But I can get it myself! Do you want tea?

I always was a fan of surprises. And actions do tend to speak louder than words. [ Lets save it for later then. He knows the surprise at least, or well, most of what it entails. Alice always had these ways of...making things so very interesting at times. Even when he knew the general idea of it, she still managed to surprise him at times.

He blinks and nods. ] If you're sure. Tea sounds lovely, thank you.

I'll make sure it's a very good surprise. [Oh, she has ideas, plenty of them. Thrilling ones even. Who needs sleep? She'll just have to dip into Ginia's wardrobe a little to see what's there.

Tea she can do! She'll go to fetch the teapot, talking as she fills it with water.]

Whatcha going to do today?

Oh I've no doubts about that at all. [ He'll wrap his arms around her and give her a few kisses along her jawline and down her neck before letting her go to fetch that teapot. He has no doubts at all.

He'll go and set some plates down on the table. A thoughtful pause as he mulls through everything. Valentine's Day is in two days. He has to get a gift and some other things for Alice. But he'll brush it off and say the usual. ]

Oh just the usual. Helping at the library and welcome center, those things. Rydia's off on a mission so, ah, they probably need some more help over there as it is. P-Probably getting ready for the New Feathers to come in. February is a short month and all. And what about you?

[Alice shivers slightly at his affection. That was something else she was slowly growing accustomed to, how sweet and romantic he was, but also how gentle. He never treated her like glass, but he did treat her like another person.

She mulls over the question, frowning slightly. Ginia was the one with all the jobs and plans.]

...I don't know. Maybe get some training in.

[ What he has in store for Alice, her own surprise, will hopefully be just as good. But he was rather sappy a characteristic Helios is quite knowing about. He just can't help himself sometimes. She just brings it out in him. A frown at that. It's only then that he realizes the light snowfall that had begun last night has turn rather heavy and the outside is nothing but a sea of moving white. ] You should relax more. Besides I don't think I'm going anywhere today after all.

[ He just huffs as he indicates to the partial blizzard conditions outside. ] I do enjoy the snow, us Romanians are quite fond of it- [ Just a chuckle. ] But staying inside today might be for the best. I get to spend more time with my beautiful Carbuncle least.

[ A genuine happy smile as he finishes setting the table. He pauses as he decides to finally spill the beans on what's coming up. ]

It's almost Valentine's Day. In just two more days, actually.

[Alice looks at the window. Oh, hey, look at that, you can't really see anything. She smiles, remembering her last day in the snow and how fun it'd been.] If it dies down, can we make more snow mythica? [Wouldn't that be fun? Though she doesn't want to tire out her little sunbeam. ~~Yet.~~

She grabs the tea caddy and sets it on the table, then the cups, then finally orange juice out of the fridge. Beautiful Carbuncle. She beams at the pet name, leaning in to catch a quick kiss.] And I always like cuddling with my personal sunbeam.

[Valentine's Day... she tries to think if she's heard of that one.] I think I know that one. It's um... there's lot of chocolate and pink and red hearts, right? And cards.

[ Helios beams at that remembering that day all too well. ] If it dies down we can make as many snow mythica as you like.

[ Just smiling as he pulls out a seat for her to sit. ] Yes we can start up the fireplace and make some hot chocolate or tea. I think it sounds rather nice. And who knows it might let up soon enough. [ Not that he can complain. It lets him cuddle with Alice and that's the better of the two things really. ]

The day for lovers, yes. Chocolates, flowers, cards and just enjoying one another's company for the day.

[Alice makes a happy little squeak. The day hadn't started out very nice, and now she felt so bad for being so angry with him, but it'd been very nice overall. Friends, snowmen, snow mythica... it was all so very nice.

She takes a seat and pours him his tea.] I'd like that. We can make lots of them together. But staying in sounds very nice too.

[Alice muses lightly, quickly realizing she doesn't have anything planned.] But I don't have anything for you.

[ It hadn't, no. But sometimes things are only made stronger by the hardships taken. He's glad she found it in herself to forgive what he did even though there's still some...lingering guilt over the fact. It was the Malnosso's doing but that didn't make it right, still though, it was a thing in the past and they had overcome it like so many other things. ] We can do both. We'll probably be terribly cold afterwards so, something hot to get out the cold will be nice.

[ Helios blinks taking a sip of that tea and then proceeding to give her some pancakes, eggs, and bacon. ] As long as I have you for the day it doesn't really matter, dear. You don't have to give me anything to have a nice Valentine's Day.

[ The chocolates and flowers and things were nice but really if he just got to spend it with her he really didn't need any of those things. ]

[That is a good compromise! It pleases her. As does the food in front of her. Alice digs in happily - pancakes! She's never had pancakes before - temporarily distracted in all her happy munching.]

But I want to get you something. This will... This is our first Valentine's Day together. So I want to get you something special.

Do you know if Ginia got Giles anything?

[ You being pleased is one of Helios' many daily goals, Alice. He smiles a little amused at how enthusiastic she is about such a simple little breakfast. But then again there's always something she's never seen but he hopes with the compromise that she'll get to see and experience more. He stops in his own chewing looking surprised. ] Yes you're right, it will won't it?

[ A smile. ] Whatever you get me will be special I know that much. [ And then...he stops. He's demeanor changing into a deep frown and a soft sigh escapes his lips. ]

Alice. Giles is...he's gone. [ Forever and it's truly that now given what the man goes back to. Nothing. It's still a heavy blow and subject to talk about even if has been over a week. ]

[Alice nods, quite pleased at the fact. It's their first holiday together and it's a nice one at that. This pleases her very much and she's beaming as she eats more, enjoying all the food. She'll have to find him something nice and special. Maybe the weather will let up enough later to go shopping.

She stops eating when Helios mentions Giles is gone. Gone. Giles is gone. It takes a bit for the words to process, but she knows the meaning enough. He left. He's one of the many who depart and it's not fair.]

But he promised he'd stay and watch over Ginia. He's not supposed to leave. [There's a slight edge to her voice as she grows distressed by the news.] ...Poor Ginia. ...Poor you! [She practically throws herself over to him, pulling him into a comforting embrace.]

He promised, I-I know he did. Ginia...she's-she's so strong we've been coping though. A-And it's not as if he-he can't come back. [ But who knows when or how he might be when he does. He might not remember them and that alone scares him to a very large degree. ]

But-but we don't have control over where or when it happens, just that it does. It's not-not f-fair. [ Because here Giles had a second chance, a chance to live out the remainder of his life happily and without pain or grief and he knows that he shouldn't let this ruin both their day, but it's so hard to accept sometimes. Still he tries to smile a little.

His expression turns into one of surprise before settling for something along the lines of acceptance. He runs a hand down her back as she embraces him. ] I miss him Alice.

[It isn't fair at all. It's not right for people to be brought in and make such a difference, then be torn away. She holds Helios a little tighter, pressing kisses to his forehead and cheek. What if he was sent home one day? She couldn't imagine what that would be like.]

It's okay to miss him. You don't have to hide anything. I'm here now.

I left him with such...horrible information about me. About everything going on. And I...I didn't even get to say goodbye. No one did. And Ginia...she's trying to be strong but she...she needs... [ She needs Giles and he can't, he can only help so much. It's been hard on them both and he suspects Alice being out to be the contemplation of many things, this being a major factor. And no it's not fair because Giles was really gone. There's a small pause as he simply revels in those kisses. He presses his lips to hers in a soft gentle manner a hand brushing her hair out of her face. ]

I'm sorry. I didn't want to...to ruin this day for us.

[Alice is bad at comforting people. She knows it. She can hold him and kiss him and try to take some of his pain away, but she doesn't know what to say. What she wants to say, she knows she shouldn't because it'd make it worse. Because she'd like to hurt Giles right now. Not badly, just punch him once or three times. Hit him for making everyone so upset even though leaving wasn't his fault.

He didn't leave. He was sent home. Right.]

You didn't ruin anything. I'd find out sooner or later and it's better I found out sooner. I'm sorry, I wish I was here sooner. For you.
