Ginia gives a friendly wave when she sees Helios again and beams happily at him.]

/It's good to see you again. And sorry about the voice thing, I had to use my cellphone. And I got you something./

[She pauses to dig through her bag, pulling out a small box of chocolate dipped biscuits. It's not exactly a bribe or anything, but always best to start off a teacher-student relationship on a good note, right?]

((ooc; Then I can't wait for the derp! And after the bakery, the grocery store too. No sweets will be safe from them.))

[ A wave back with an equally happy smile. ] So Giles gave you a tour and advice. And Frederic gave you a compliment? You're doing rather well for your first few weeks.

[ Just a light chuckle before tilting his head. Confused Helios is confused. But once those chocolate dipped biscuits come out of the bag? Yeah...he is sold. They look so good. ood note, yes, right, very right. ]

/I have a program that can translate text to voice on my phone. You just put in what you want it to say or scan in some text and it'll read it to the best of its abilities. I basically wrote what I wanted to say into the phone and had it say everything while the audio feed on the journal picked everything up./

[The box of cookies is held out a little closer. They're even imports (though technically anything in Luceti is imported) from Europe! Belgium chocolate. Just saying.]

/I think you're the expert on that. I would assume magic has limitations, but I don't see by not. Some kind of transcribing spell or something./ [As unversed as she is in magic, having grown up on fantasy and fiction, the idea is thoroughly thrilling. Magic! Doing the impossible... or at least highly improbable.

She beams as the box of cookies is finally accepted and nods in agreement, eager to begin herself.] /Where would be a good spot to go? Probably somewhere quiet and peaceful?/

Oh it does. But that limitation is usually produced by the caster themselves. Not really the magic. [ I mean Helios has gone to an entirely different world because of it. ]

A transcribing spell, hm. It might actually work. It would be very useful for getting all the languages here, and back home, down.

Yes actually. [ He'll look around and point to the forest behind the community building. ] In the woods should be fine for Nala. Well anywhere is really fine for Nala.

Yes something like that! Physical and mental strength are both needed for casting magic. At least in my world. [ Just a smile. Helios will begin his descent into the woods then. ]

Working hard and even trying are both commendable traits, Ginia. Even if you don't succeed in this first lesson, which might be the case, it's important to know that you can try again. The spirits are tricky sometimes so not getting it right off the bat isn't anything to be ashamed of.

/How about in this world? Considering how you have a mixture of people from different worlds and different abilities./

[Ginia follows after, enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells of a forest after some rainfall. Birds chirping in the distance, the mixture of fresh rain, evergreens, and other plants, it's all very relaxing and could almost be seen as a vacation if it weren't for the fact they were all forced here against their wills.] /I didn't expect results right away, but I suppose it would be nice being able to accomplish something down the road. Knowing some healing magic would be very helpful, though there doesn't seem to be a shortage of healers around./

This one? Luceti is vastly different. I'm not certain as to how magic works here, not being indigenous. It seems the spirits are the only way to gain magical like powers, well, for us at least. There's too many unknown variables that we've yet to have explained to us.

[ Helios will look back every so often just to make sure Ginia is still behind him. He'll be stumbling over that tree root now, grabbing hold of the trunk to steady himself. Just clearing his throat and laughing sheepishly. Derpy derp. ] Ah! Y-Yes healing magic...very useful, very much so. It's much easier to learn here than in my own world.

/Always the unknowns. I suppose it's better than nothing. Maybe there will be answers further down the road./

[Ginia keeps up easily, dodging tree roots and low-hanging branches. When Helios stumbles, she reaches out to steady him, but he's caught himself already.] /What's magic like in your world?/

I hope you're right. We could use some answers, really. B-But I'm not sure how much the Malnosso are willing to disclose to us.

[ Helios will pause before continuing onward. ] In my world? It's a bit like using ones own energy to manipulate the area around them. Only certain bloodlines were taught how to do so, however. So not everyone can do it. Each spell has a spoken incantation as well. There are some that have even been passed down from mythica though, those are much harder to control and learn.

/How long have you been here?/

[Ginia listens attentively as he speaks. Magic, vampires, versions of Earth where the US isn't under martial law, it's all very fascinating.] /So you either can or you can't. Are these abilities kept secret or are these things widely known?/

Over a year. [ He stops, blinks, and then moves onward. There's a large clearing up ahead and that is going to be their training ground. ] It doesn't really feel like though.

Precisely! Oh, no, extremely well kept secret. At-at least for now. [ Helios will hold up an overhanging branch for her. ] This is it.

/I suppose after you've been here long enough and get used to everything, time flies./

/I suppose time will tell what the future has to hold./ [Ginia ducks under the branch and bows her head at him, admiring the clearing.] /Lovely clearing. It'd be the perfect place for a picnic with better weather./

Not everything, no. I don't know if I'll get used to the experiments or what they entail.

That's really the only way, isn't it? And what we put into our current situation to help mold our futures. [ Helios follows in behind her stepping to the side as he walks into the middle of outcropping. ] Yes I found it awhile back. It's helped me with making contact with the spirits.

[ A picnic doesn't sound too bad actually. ]

[Ginia gives a slow nod at that. She's heard the kidnappings over the network and heard of the results. It's not something she's looking forward too.]

/Well, now that we're here, what's the first step?/

[ There's also the dying and coming back deal. But no matter Helios will begin to pace holding up his fingers with each step said. ]

Ah, yes. First step. You should take a seat and get comfortable. Next, clear your mind and be absolutely silent. Finally just...call out to Nala. She should come quite quickly.

[Ginia sheds her coat and bundles it up to create a small cushion to sit on. Sitting down, she crosses her legs under her and exhales slowly, settling down.

Or at least trying to. Every time her mind clears of one thought, another one takes its place. Relaxing has never been one of her strong suits and she sighs quietly as she chews on her lip.]

[ Helios sees it, the problems she's having. He knows how hard it is to actually get into a meditative state. He won't disrupt Ginia though, not yet, he'll let her continue for a while longer just to let her try to figure out the best possible way for her to get it on her own. This is probably the one thing he can't help her on, since it widely varies for people. ]

[After a few more minutes of struggling to get into a meditative state, Ginia opens her eyes and sighs, glancing apologetically at Helios.]

/Sorry, I guess there's too much going on in my mind for me to clear it completely./

[True enough; excited as she is about learning magic, the situations in the city bother her. Kidnappings, people suddenly leaving and appearing, Giles in the clinic...]

/Hey. Do you know how Giles ended up in the clinic?/

[She knows the story from Buffy, but it doesn't hurt to ask someone else.]

[ Helios waves her off shaking his head as he does so. ] It's nothing to apologize for, Ginia. This is probably the hardest part of learning from the spirits.

[ Helios wasn't expecting that question. So he stalls just for a few moments as he clears his head and tries to think of an acceptable lie. Something vague will do. Sorry Ginia but he's not going to tell the exact truth, even though it pains him not to do so. ]

A-ah an, an accident is all.

/I regret not learning yoga or meditation techniques when I had the chance./

[She sighs a little again. There's no reason for her to doubt anything and she doesn't, but she worries and there's a feeling in her gut she can't shake.]
