This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. This can be used to thread with Helios anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written).

Don't apologize, Helios, you had no way of knowing when I'd be back. I wasn't even sure when I'd be back. [She can tell and it makes her sad. Why Grune, of all people?]

You'll, um, be happy to know I won't have to go on any more missions for awhile.

[folklorist]

I know. N-New feather season it's, you know, busy. [ Especially when you offer your services at the Welcome Center. ]

You're not? [ Hm. He's not sure he should trust you, considering you've been working yourself to exhaustion during these missions. ] You're not just saying that are you?

[shadedsunlight]

I know, and I feel horrible for missing it. Um, I've only glanced through the journals, but anyone I should know about? [Is Giles back? That's the question on her mind, though she has a feeling if Giles was back, there'd be a sign of him. Him drinking tea in the kitchen, his coat hung up in the closet, some sign of life from him.]

And no, I'm not just saying that. I... I promised the smithy I'd get some items for them and I owe Ami a favor down the road, but no, I can take a break for now. I need to be back here. With you guys. [Her voice is earnest and sincere. Even if her missions were for them, have always been for her friends, she's missed being around them a lot. And after having so many people disappear on her while she was gone, she doesn't want to leave again.]

[folklorist]

[ Helios will probably feel terrible once he realizes her endeavors were for others. But knowing about the boat he lets up on his speculation. His stomach does drop when she asks that. Grell. Dear gods Grell was back and he didn't even know what to say when she made her announcement over the journals. His heart stopped when Adele replied but no he can't tell anyone because if Grell remembers again... ] I'll t-tell you when I get back to the house.

[ She can probably hear that there's something wrong by his tone of voice.

[She can tell and instantly there's a feeling of dread. Who could be back? Angel? Grell? Or is it Giles, in some changed state? Her hands grip her cup of tea and she resists the urge to flip through the journal herself.]

I'll be at home. No... rush, at your leisure.

[folklorist]

Alright I'll be there soon. [ And true to his word Helios will be home rather shortly after that the front door opening is the main indication of this. ] Ginia?

[shadedsunlight]

[She meant it when she said there was no rush for him to come home, but Ginia would be lying if she didn't admit it was good to see him again.]

I'm in the kitchen. [She calls out to him, coming out anyway to greet him with a smile.] Welcome back.

[folklorist]

[ Helios gives a strained smile but it's a smile nonetheless. ] Welcome back. I was thinking on the way home about making a nice dinner, what do you say? Something like old times, hm?

[ Always making dinners for each other when one was taken by the droids and what not. He just isn't quite sure what to make yet. ]

[shadedsunlight]

[Ginia chuckles lightly. A homemade dinner from Helios. For once, she's not inclined to argue about who should cook.] I'd like that a lot. But first, I want to show you something.

[folklorist]

[ Blink. He looks generally confused about that. Automatic response. ] Is something the matter?

[ Because, really, when is it not something like that in Luceti? You do have his attention now though Ginia. ]

[shadedsunlight]

[She shakes her head and motions for him to come into the kitchen before she heads back in herself. Sitting on the table is a medium-sized box wrapped up in some cloth.]

When I said I was going on missions to get an applied shift put on your boat, that was only part of the reason I was going. The applied shift has been placed, I have their promise in writing, but it came with a bonus gift.

[She picks up the wrapped box and holds it out to him. Under the cloth is a simple hinged wood box. Velvet lines the interior of the box where a large egg waits, faintly iridescent.]

[ It looks like an ordinary box. Nothing too intricate or fancy about it. Helios tilts his head slightly as he follows Ginia into the room. He watches, waiting patiently for her to hand it over to him.

It's quite heavy and something inside thuds against the inner walls of it. He gives Ginia a confused look before undoing the clasp. There's a moment's hesitation before Helios opens that box and then...a surprised gasp escapes him. He almost drops but steadies himself just in time to clutch the box back to his chest protectively and carefully. It's. ] Oh my god. Ginia this is...this can't be for me, can it?

[ He cannot believe this right now. It's a dragon egg. ] I-I don't know what to say... [ and it's true he looks utterly speechless but amazingly happy and, well, he can't believe he's actually holding a dragon egg. This is too good to be true. His own personal dragon of all things? No. No this was far too much even for Ginia. ]

[shadedsunlight]

[Ginia smiles, pleased at how happy he looks, even beyond his surprise. She nods slowly.] Yes, it's for you. It'll take a few weeks for it to hatch and I'm not sure what kind of dragon is inside, but the Malnosso assured it was safe. I leave the care and raising in your expert hands.

As for what to say... [She chuckles lightly, her voice becoming teasing:] "Thank you" is a good starting place.

[ Helios is still some what speechless and still amazed that this is even real. It's not a dream is it? Because this feels like something out of a dream...

He nods slowly looking back down into the box with a loving, caring expression. ] Of course. I'll make sure to take excellent care of it. [ He'll move to put the egg and box back down on the table and then he'll go over to Ginia and give her a hug, albeit it is somewhat awkward, but it is a hug by Helios nonetheless! ] Thank you so much, Ginia.

[shadedsunlight]

[A dream this isn't. If it was, Giles would also be here and they'd be giving him his future pet dragon together.

Ginia gingerly returns the hug, knowing how awkward it is for him, but that he's freely offering a hug is a nice sign and it means a lot to her.]

You're welcome, Helios. I just wanted to cheer you up after... everything.

[folklorist]

[ Some part of him is still sad about the whole thing especially since Giles isn't here to celebrate with him. He knows the other would have been just as excited and just as happy to be here for it. It's sad and unfair in a way that he couldn't be here for it. But perhaps, perhaps when he comes back a baby dragon will be waiting for him when he gets home.

Helios breaks away but not before wiping at his eyes and looking back at Ginia with a smile. ] I'm going to have to use the fireplace for a little while. D-Dragon eggs need intense heat. If-if that's alright.

[shadedsunlight]

Of course, of course. Use it as much as you want. I can help you collect some firewood, I think we're getting low anyway. [Yep, typical Ginia. Back from one job and throwing herself back into more work.]

[folklorist]

[ Helios gives her a stern look before shaking his head. ] No Ginia. You need your rest and as much as I appreciate the offer and am grateful for it...I would rather like you to rest. I can manage getting some firewood.

[shadedsunlight]

[oh, all right, he can have this one.] Fine, I'll rest the day, but I better be able to do something tomorrow. I get antsy without anything to do. Oh, wait, piano lesson first, then rest.

[folklorist]

[ Just a huff and shaking of his head. ] I honestly don't know how you and Adele do it. I would be so tired all the time if I kept as busy as you two do. You're going to over work yourselves one day.

[ And here he just gives an admonishing tut. ] You should go rest now, don't you think? You only just got b-back. A-And I can speak to you later if-if you wish.

[shadedsunlight]

It's something you get used to. Honestly, I don't know what to do with myself when I don't have something to keep me busy. [She laughs lightly, but Helios makes a good point. Only a matter of time before everything catches up.]

Nonsense. I've been away for so long and barely been around the ones I love. [Giles. Smoker. Grune. All gone or taken during the time she was away. At least Smoker came back and Grune would eventually.] Besides, you said you wanted to talk?

[folklorist]

I-I guess I'm just so used to being so busy back at the castle that I...I somewhat like the lessening of duties and work. Even if I only like it just a little. Those spells and things won't make themselves you know? [ His smile disappears and it's merely a frown that unfolds on to his features. ]

I-I don't know if, if I-I should...should. [ Grell. Gods what was he going to do about Grell. ] G-Grell, um, s-seems to be back. A-Adele was, was talking to her over the journals too.

[ He swallows thickly looking down at the floor before eyes tick back up to the window. His face looks pale in the sun's light that's filtered through the open curtains but he seems calm on the exterior surface. Interior however...well that's an entirely different scenario all together. ]

[shadedsunlight]

[Grell. Oh god, Grell. At one point she was ignorant of who she was, but she knew now the damage she had caused. Her hands grip the table as she looks down, trying to gather up her thoughts.]

...We can't tell Adele. [Horrible to leave their housemate in the dark, but it's safer that way. The less people who know the better. And secretly, Ginia's not sure she trusts Adele to stay quiet or calm if she did know.]

...Can we put a barrier back up around the house?

[folklorist]

We can't... [ It comes in a slightly shaky, almost terrified whisper. He really can't help but be afraid at this point. If Grell were to find out someone was told well it'd be his head on the line. He sighs eyes closing for a moment as he composes himself. ]

I can and will. It'll be something at least. Sh-she doesn't appear to remember anything from her stay. But, but we all know how that can change in an instant.

[shadedsunlight]

[Ginia reaches out and puts a light hand on his shoulder. No harm will come to him, that she silently promises. She knows there's little she can do against a Death God, but she won't stand by and let him get hurt.]

It can. We'll keep an eye on things. Maybe... maybe she won't attack anyone. Who knows. We'll just stay on guard.
