O-oh! G-Ginia, I'm so sorry. [ He'll use his good hand to open the door up just a smidgen. He's careful to not expose the bruise on his cheek by leaning out just a little on his good side. Not odd behavior, not at all. ]
Is-is everything alright? D-Do you need... [ He can't go outside like this. His concerned question dies on his lips. No he could just make up something like always. He hated doing it but, well, if it kept people from worrying than so be it. ] Do you need something?
no subject
/Everything is okay. I just wanted to.../ [Lie and make up an excuse on why she's here? Dodge around half-truths? No, it's Helios. Only the truth here.]
/I wanted to see if you were okay. Giles asked me to keep an eye on you./
no subject
I'm fine. No need to worry about me Ginia. [ Just a fake subtle smile touches his lips. But it's practiced for even the worst of times. Unfortunately lies and excuses are all he ever wants to do when he's like this, it's a habit if not a bad one. A twinge of pain comes and goes from his face from his wounded hand but it's replaced once again with a smile. ] Th-thank you though for, um, s-stopping by.
no subject
/You know, when most people say they're fine and to not worry, I tend not to believe it. Especially when they aren't opening the door all the way. I saw Giles last night, with the mask on./
no subject
I-I am though. Y-You should believe it and the apartment is messy. [ Well the hallway is at least. It still has blood in it and he hasn't really been able to go down it since last night. And oh god the mask, the mask is still there with the knife through its eye.
His thoughts snap back when Ginia says that and for a brief second Helios looks...afraid. There is an underlying fear in his expression. ] Y-You did?
no subject
/Met him in the hallway, I accompanied him to the item shop. He was trying to find ingredients to stop the moon from falling, help the village. He.../
["Of course, Helios' power won't be quite enough, but I can add bits and pieces, here and there, with the right supplies."]
/Are you sure you're all right?/
no subject
Fine. I'm fine Ginia. There isn't anything you need to concern yourself about. You should be c-careful of those, um, m-masks. I-I think they have some sort of...way of d-drawing people in. [ There's a pause as he swallows thickly. Remembering last night, remembering Giles fighting with it to not put it back on. Remembering how utterly terrified he was that he would. ]
S-So you should j-just...just try to keep away from them.
no subject
[Ginia keeps her foot where it is and leans slightly against the doorframe, trying to peek past him into the apartment. It's stubbornness and concern that keeps her around because no, Helios is definitely not okay.
In some ways she almost feels some guilt. Maybe if she hadn't been a ghost, she might have been able to do something to stop him. No, more likely if she hadn't been a ghost, Helios would be the one checking on her.]
/I guess this is our experiment for this year's Halloween. Masks and a moon getting closer and closer./
no subject
And with that leaning on the doorframe Helios will shift in his position behind the door making sure she can't see the bruising or his hand. He's not sure how long it's going to hold up, this farce, but he can damn well try. ]
P-Probably yes. It seems to be around the right t-time. [ He's not sure if this is worse or better than last years really. His tone is showing of this fact. ] I'm more worried about the moon to be honest. [ It's all rather ominous. ]
no subject
[Let it be known Ginia can keep up things as long as needed when friends are involved.
She gives a small nod. To what extent will that moon get closer? She can't help thinking on some of the ideas Giles had last night because they were viable even if he wasn't in the right state of mind.]
/It's on my mind too. The question is how close it'll get and any side effects of it being so close. Tides and everything./
no subject
[ And let it be known that Helios is remarkable at deflecting and derailing conversations, especially ones about his health. He can keep it up just as long as Ginia, probably. ]
Probably just like a normal moon would. The closer it gets...the tides usually rise I-I think? There's really no telling at this point.
no subject
Tides would change, I believe. But you're right, no telling at this point. I hope people stay safe./
no subject
I hope so too. I-I hope it doesn't...interfere with Giles and his, his penalty removal.
no subject
Ginia's smile fades a little and she nods in agreemnt. She hadn't thought about it; would things be delayed any because there was an experiment going on? Would he be okay?]
/When you went... it was okay right? Nothing bad?/
no subject
It was fine, normal even. I-I admittedly don't remember too much about the experience though. [ Drugs and all. ]
no subject
/I hope he comes back all right./
no subject
But we'll be there for him when he does come back. So-So in case he isn't...he'll have us to help him.
[ He'll look at the floor after that. Help. He could have used some last night when Giles wasn't in the right frame of mind at all. That almost brings tears to his eyes but he just blinks and lightly gnaws on his lip. Giles will need it and there's the bakery too. He'll have to stop by beforehand. ]
no subject
[Oops, rambling again. Ginia stops and looks down for a moment. Of course they'll be there to help him. It's what friends do right? Be there for each other unconditionally?
She's kicking herself for not being there for Helios last night.]
/We'll have to get some treats from the bakery. Or have a nice dinner when he's back. Or both.
...Helios? Has Giles said anything about...us? Me and him, I mean./
no subject
Both sounds like a wonderful idea. I-I was going to go to the bakery to get him some things when he, he returned anyway. [ Helios tilts his head to the side. Looking at Ginia curiously. ]
No. He hasn't. [ But he can kinda glean on where this is going. A smile starts to spread on his lips anyway. ]
no subject
/I can handle dinner? Though we didn't do dinner for you. That seems unfair now./ [She purses her lips in thought over the situation. A belated dinner of everyone being better and getting through another event?] /Maybe it can be a dinner for the both of you. Is that fair?/
[He hadn't? Ginia balks a little. It's harder admitting these things in person. Writing it is one thing, but saying it to someone else, a mutual friend, that's harder. Ginia waffles a bit more before she finally signs it all out in a rush.]
/Giles and I have been dating since the end of the last experiment./
no subject
[ He goes to wave with his bad hand and he stops using the other one. Stupid absentmindedness. ] Dinner sounds lovely though. It'll be nice.
Oh? You two sure do know how to cover up your tracks. [ Helios smiles widely. ] That's wonderful Ginia.
no subject
[Ginia catches herself again, noting how he quickly switched hands. Hmm...] /I hope so. Our last dinner was quite nice. It was good having everyone together./
[There's a small laugh and a wave of her hand, Ginia blushing slightly.] /We're taking it slow. You... approve?/
no subject
[ Helios nods smiling still. ] It was nice, very nice. It doesn't happen nearly enough really.
[ Helios blinks almost taken aback by the question. ] Ginia you hardly need my approval for such a thing. You and Giles...you're both happy aren't you? That's the only approval you really need.
no subject
/Then let's have dinner after he's back. A day or two after at least, give him some time to settle back in./ [Assuming they're all still here and he hasn't forgotten them.]
/We... yes, we're happy. I mean, I don't want to speak for him, but he does seem happy. But it's not strange? I did only meet him in July. And I know he's much older than me. But I care about him. I... I love him./
