This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. This can be used to thread with Helios anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written).

[Probably not a familiar voice. It sounds slightly drugged but otherwise alert.]

[ That is definately not a familiar voice and with the subsequent action of Archie's call there will be some banging on Helios' end. You caught him by surprise, derp. ]

Ah! Y-Yes? Um, who-who is this?

[There's a pause.]

For about six days, I was a tiny, kitchen-cleaning goblin you were very kind to. Then a ways after, I was a drama teacher at the school, back when we thought we were cousins. I don't think we've actually met properly. Kennedy, is my name.

[folklorist]

[ He remembers that. Very well actually. The other part not so much, but that's because that memory leads to some unpleasant ones. ]

Ah so that was you, then? It's...it's very nice to finally meet you.

[A tired laugh.] The same to you. Giles spoke of you, and I wanted to make sure you were all right.

[That, and he's so bored he's tempted to call up random people and make friends.]

[folklorist]

You know Giles as well then? [ He's not surprised really. ]

But...y-yes I'm, I'm doing alright. Thank you for asking.

Um, how about you? [ You do sound a bit out of it Archie, so Helios is obviously going to ask. Not that he knows about the whole deal. ]

[You're not getting the story from him. Not unless he's asked directly.]

Terribly bored, but well. And yes, Giles is...is a friend. He said you're hale and whole again, but he's also been acting a bit odd, so I thought to see for certain. I meant to keep an eye out for your return, for him.

[folklorist]

[ So it would seem. Luckily Helios isn't the prying type. ]

He has been, I-I think a lot of people have. [ Robert is one very obvious case. Also Helios himself is affected but he hasn't picked up on it too much. He is absentminded and derpy after all. He's just writing off this whole inventing spree as brainstorming. ] An experiment then?

I think so. Dr. McCoy said as much, the soulless son of a gun. That alone should tell you something.

[folklorist]

Soulless? [ That only makes one thing come to mind for Helios. ] He hasn't harmed anyone I hope? In his current state?

[ There's a bit of concern in his voice. Since soulless means without emotions, without morals or feelings for others. That's the soulless Helios is familiar with. But, that's because of his demonic cohorts and such. ]

Oh, no. He's just...unfeeling. Sort of cold, but still harmless. And he thanks me when I tell him that. To be sure, it's closer to what I expect from a physician.

[folklorist]

Ah that's good. Well, I-I mean, from the alternative. S-Soulless usual means something much worse in my world. B-But you never know how the Malnosso will interpret it.

Closer to what you expect... [ Just have a slight chuckle on his end. ] Oh but not all doctors are bad! I admit they could do without the needles, though.

And the razors. Although apparently that's not done anymore. Razors and laudanum.

[folklorist]

Oh heaven's no! They have all this...new technology and things for it nowadays. I'm not even sure myself. [ Just a sheepish laugh. ]

I guess that's why I'm not a doctor!

[simplestgift]

[There might be the sound of an oxygen compressor in the background. But you didn't hear that. Because you didn't.]

Laudanum does work, you know. For pain and the cough, at any rate.

[folklorist]

[ But he did. He might not be able to read but he can sure hear. ]

Does it? I'm afraid I'm not one for getting sick too often. It...it had opium in it, did it not? If my sources are correct they still use it today; in America and the United Kingdom at least.

You see? We didn't do everything wrong.

[folklorist]

Quite the contrary. [ Just a smirk on his end. ] I think it's lead to a few medical break through, actually.

What else did it lead to?

[folklorist]

Morphine for one. Other types of pain medication as well. The names escape me at the moment. Oxycodone or something or other.

Oh, well. [You can't see it, Helios, but he's peering at his IV, through which flows sweet drugs when he presses a button.] I'm very glad for you. What year are you from?

[folklorist]

Two thousand and ten. The beginning of it, just...right after New Year's too. [ Funny it doesn't seem that long ago but he's been here a year. ]

And you? [ Though considering the laudanum statements he's figuring you're from way back. But people still use it nowadays so he's not sure. ]

Eighteen hundred and two.

[folklorist]

Oh my. You are...almost from the same time as my good friend, Frederic Chopin. It must be a bit starling for you I'd imagine. Talking to people from the future at least. And then there's all the weird technology they have here.

[ A pause. ] These journal things...still hard to use those filters.

Someone showed me. And yes, it used to be very startling. But my sweetheart is from very nearly your time. One gets used to it.
