ϡ - Chapter TwentySeven; The brief interlude [voice/action] backdated to the 10th
[ It’s been awhile and with everything that’s occurred he had almost forgotten. But it’s September 10th once again. That day…that day Elise passed away and he lost the most important person to him. He’s lost a lot here, been through a lot here. But the memory doesn’t fade, doesn’t heal, and he doesn’t want it to. This is for her and everything she meant to him, everything she still is to him.
So he can’t forget and never will. ]
It’s funny. How…certain things catch up to you. I-I suppose you lose track of time in this place, hm? It’s quite easy to do so, what with no designated unit. It...makes you wonder what other people back home might be doing. Might have been doing in the interim.
Ah! And a belated welcome to all our new arrivals. It's a bit strange, isn't it? But...everyone here is welcoming enough. You'll-you'll come to find that out on your own though. I've met some...very wonderful people here. I hope you can all do the same. Luceti is a trying place at times but we help one another, and it makes things easier.
[ There’s no other transmission after that for awhile. The roomies can hear him walking, pacing actually, in his room before it stops and he opens the door. He’ll go to leave heading to the memory garden. He makes one more voice post before he places a bundle of flowers in one of the open plots. ]
I-I hope it’s not, not too much trouble. I, um, used one of the plots in the g-garden. If, it is…I can move them. [ He has a plot out in the forest anyway. And he’ll actually make his way to the edge of the town sometime later in the afternoon. He’ll return around midday and then hang around town until late at night. He’ll be outside looking up at the stars outside of CH7 humming a rather interesting song to himself. It’s actually a song she wrote for him but it’s not like anyone would know that. Maybe though, just maybe, the love in it will be conferred via his poor attempt at humming it. He also might not be speaking to anyone in particular, actually he's speaking to himself, odd isn't it? But he'll be out back by the boat laying as comfortable as his wings will allow on his back. He'll just be idly tracing the stars with one hand and one eye closed. His journal is beside him and it isn't recording he made sure of that. Still people walking by might hear someone talking to themselves.]
It's rather beautiful out here, Elise. I-I think you would enjoy it. You always were interested in the outdoors. I wish you could be here to see it. [ But it wouldn't be right for him to wish her here. He's not sure she deserves to be here...be with him. Still the idea makes him smile if even just a little bit. ]
((ooc; Pretty much you can meet Helios anywhere he's at today. Afternoon, midday, or nighttime. You don't have to label it if you don't want. Also he might be a bit preoccupied/invested in his thoughts. I suggest sneaking up on him and startling him /shot))
So he can’t forget and never will. ]

Re: action
...what about you?
[He knows you're not okay, bro. But he'd like to know how not okay.]
action
I'm...f-fine. [ He's fine, okay. Just a little sad. Even he can't help it. ] Ah w-well you know. Coping, fine.
[ He looks down at the empty plot. ] But, um, th-thank you for coming.
Re: action
...of course. It's an important sort of day, after all. What sort of a friend would I be not to be here?
action
You'd still be a very good friend Giles. [ He was the one who left the apartment today without telling you or Frederic after all. ]
Re: action
...you know, if I hadn't been sent back, I'd already have been here a year by now.
[Giles has done worse for longer and Helios knows it. Take out a wall and disappear without a note and they'll talk.]
Only because you're an extraordinarily patient sort of individual, Helios.
action
Y-You should know about having to be like that. Working with teenagers and some of them not even being human. [ Just a chuckle. ]
Re: action
And I had enough difficulties with them in college, I still shudder to think of remembering what they must have been like in high school.
action
Highschool is a difficult time for a lot of students. Changing in ways you never thought about. Hormones, college to think about. You know all that teenage drama as my students would so aptly put it.
Re: action
I was more or less a different sort of person, back then.
action
Re: action
We wouldn't be people if we didn't.
action
No, no we wouldn't. And the world would be very different. Unchanging...almost like a utopia of sorts.

Re: action
action
Ah, well, it's a nice hope to have perhaps.
Re: action
[Sorry, bro. Some cynicism just doesn't rub off.]
Honestly, I think this place is the closest I've ever seen any place come.
action
Maybe it's best if she never comes here then. [ Still he looks down sadly once more at those flowers in his hand. He never likes thinking about Elise here. She doesn't deserve to be in a place like this...and yet to get another chance for her to have happiness, to have life. ] Probably is.
Re: action
I didn't say that.
action
I-I know you didn't. I just...I just feel so selfish ever thinking about her coming here.
Re: action
...that's, um, that's hardly selfish.
action
I-I don't know if, if she would want to see me again. [ Main frightening prospect that always comes up when this day rolls around. God all he would need is for... ] She would probably hate me.
Re: action
Everyone suffers from an accident.
...and, practically enough, I'm sure she'd just be happy to be alive if she knew anything that had happened.
action
She didn't deserve it. She didn't...she doesn't deserve to see me either.
[ At least that's what Helios' crippling low self esteem thinks. ]
She could be happy here knowing that I'm not here with her.
Re: action
I know that's what you're thinking, Helios. And, please take my word for it...in her position? She'd be happy to see most anyone from home.
