ϡ - Chapter Seventeen; in which one becomes a dragon [action]

[ Anyone in the vicinity of Community Housing 7 will, at that moment, hear a very loud roar coming from apartment 22 on floor 5. The glass of the windows in the kitchen will shatter and go flying and there will be some smoke coming out from the windows. Also if you come to investigate you'll see deep claw markings in the door's entry way. Whoops Helios is honestly sorry about that Frederic. He'll apologize later for the mess and for waking you up, he was just startled, hence the roar which would have been a yell but you know...translations and all. He had to leave before he got any bigger and destroyed the entire apartment. At least the houses fix themselves.

There is a golden scaled dragon in your town today Luceti and it looks vicious, but honestly it's pretty derpy and harmless. Well besides his tail, which he still hasn't gotten control of just yet. You also might feel your room shake as he walks by your house/apartment complex. He's about the size of a large house and he's wearing glass which apparently changed with his size, the Malnosso like to joke don't they? You'll also see his tiny golden green tipped wings beside his more larger golden ones. It's a clue as to who it is but he'll answer you if you ask. This dragon is on a mission, albeit a futile one. You might see him walking a bit in the woods and eventually ending up in front of the Bakery. Sweets...he wanted some and now he can't even fit through the door. He'll be sitting on his hind legs, tail curled around him and a clawed hand rubbing his chin. Indiscreet? Never, not when baked goods are concerned. He's trying to devise a way to get in there...but without doing some serious damage there are no options. No matter he doesn't want to alarm anyone so sometime later he will make his way down to the lake and there he will be, talking to himself, and staying there for the majority of well...however long this decides to last. He's honestly not going to be able to make a voice post with huge vicious claws anytime soon. Besides he can probably be heard from anywhere anyway; his voice carries nicely in this form. ]

Oh for goodness sake I don't know how they deal with being this large. [ There's a pause and a snort. ] I suppose the experiment is still going on then. [ Another sigh though it sounds more like an annoyed growl. ] But they can change their forms into humans. I wonder if I can just get that right...and then there is the ring. [ He will just be babbling don't mind the brooding dragon, lounging beside the lake, tapping a clawed hand into the ground folks. He is merely thinking and when Helios thinks it's usually good...sometimes. But you might want to watch the tail it's swaying erratically because that thing has a mind of its own. ]

[ Aw Giles. Clearly the only thing to be done would to find some way to cross dimensions. ]

You never know, though. Anything is possible! California seems like a perfectly good spot for some sort of dragon. It's at least hot enough, well, at least the few times I've been there.

[Oh, Giles is working on it. Give him time.] You've been to California before?

What's it like, in your world?

[ They have plenty of that in Luceti at least. ] I have. Usually to meet prospective students and their families.

[ He thinks about it, trying to remember the few times he's gone there in the past. ] It was...different, eye opening really. The Golden Gate Bridge is positively breathtaking and San Francisco was very nice too.

Two places in California I actually haven't been. [Giles thinks on this for a second, and them amends.] Not that I've really been outside Sunnydale and its outskirts for the past several years, apart from Los Angeles.

San Francisco sounds...brighter.

My word, Giles. You deserve a vacation I believe. [ He'll chuckle. ] Even I take them...but it's usually on school business. No one usually asks though. [ Yeah he uses the system but he has headmaster privileges. ]

It's really rather wonderful, the trolleybuses especially.

You and Okita-san have both said as much. I don't think I'm going to get one any time soon. But it is nice to think about.

What sort of "school business" qualifies as a vacation?

[ He looks rather sad at that. ] You deserve at least that much.

It only takes an hour or so to speak with the parents of new students. I...simply extend the visit for a few days. Just in case you know?

[He's flattered that you think so, Helios, but it took one of the most important people in his life dying before he even considered leaving Sunnydale. And then he wound up in Luceti. He tries to hide a smile at Helios' words.]

My thoughts exactly! I do like to dabble in the places culture as well. [ He'll begin to tap a claw on the ground as he thinks his tail will sway back and forth too. ] There's some rather interesting myths from that region. Mostly belonging to the Ohlone people I believe.

The Spanish had quite an effect on the place, as well.

[ He's sorry. He just gets excited talking about such things with someone else. ]

Very true. It definately had a major impact on the religion at least. I did get a tip on the whereabouts of Kaknu still being in the area. It's one of the reasons why I went. A bit of a side job you could say. [ He does grin a little at that. Though he didn't actually find said mythological culture hero. ]

He actually was in Sunnydale, for a few days. Maybe you just missed him.

[ He'll give another laugh. ]

Really? Though should I ask what exactly he was doing there?

[ He'll pause before thinking about something. He's a bit tentative before asking it and he'll look back and forth between the Bakery and Giles. ] The other day...what were you about to say before you--ah got teleported, again?

Hm? [Giles has to play back the memory for a second - that last teleport was pretty jarring. Then he remembers, and he shakes his head.]

It's nothing important, Helios. I was just about to say that I was going to try and start playing my guitar a bit more often. I keep putting it off, waiting for a better time, and I've realized this week that there really won't be one.

It's probably dreadfully out of tune, by now.

[ Have a scoff accompanied by some smoke coming from his nose. ] That's more of a reason why you should do it! I think if you let them get the better of you it'd just give them more incentive to keep doing these...horrible experiments. Dreadful as they may be, it helps having periods of rest after them.

I think the people here might like to hear it. We have several musicians I think. You can never really go wrong with music.

It helps, yes. Having some time to settle down and re-arm, as it were.

I doubt anyone will be at all familiar with the sort of music I like, of course. Which is a great shame.

The people around here are pretty open to new things...er, when it's not life threatening. [ A shame what happened on Halloween because that is his favorite holiday and having it being associated with what happened. That's well...that's Luceti for you. ]

Who knows, you might even gather a few fans. [ Like Frederic only, you know, New Age. ]

Fans? [Giles goes just a bit red at the thought. Has he cleaned his glasses yet? He'll just go ahead and clean his glasses again.] Certainly not. I've barely ever even played in public. [Not since coming to Sunnydale, at least.]

[ Rofl Giles he'll pretend he didn't see that. He flicks his tail once more, thinking. ] Hm. It couldn't hurt to try. But--ah I understand your reserves about the matter. [ Speaking of trying he was thinking of testing out flying. That will probably end badly, yes? ]

My reserves about the matter are that I'll never hear the end of it from Buffy, Willow, and Xander. This is quite a small village, compared to Sunnydale.

Ah yes. If that's the case I completely understand where you're coming from. I doubt I'd hear the end of it if Ra, Varron, or any of my students where here and could see me like this.
