ϡ - Chapter Seventeen; in which one becomes a dragon [action]

[ Anyone in the vicinity of Community Housing 7 will, at that moment, hear a very loud roar coming from apartment 22 on floor 5. The glass of the windows in the kitchen will shatter and go flying and there will be some smoke coming out from the windows. Also if you come to investigate you'll see deep claw markings in the door's entry way. Whoops Helios is honestly sorry about that Frederic. He'll apologize later for the mess and for waking you up, he was just startled, hence the roar which would have been a yell but you know...translations and all. He had to leave before he got any bigger and destroyed the entire apartment. At least the houses fix themselves.

There is a golden scaled dragon in your town today Luceti and it looks vicious, but honestly it's pretty derpy and harmless. Well besides his tail, which he still hasn't gotten control of just yet. You also might feel your room shake as he walks by your house/apartment complex. He's about the size of a large house and he's wearing glass which apparently changed with his size, the Malnosso like to joke don't they? You'll also see his tiny golden green tipped wings beside his more larger golden ones. It's a clue as to who it is but he'll answer you if you ask. This dragon is on a mission, albeit a futile one. You might see him walking a bit in the woods and eventually ending up in front of the Bakery. Sweets...he wanted some and now he can't even fit through the door. He'll be sitting on his hind legs, tail curled around him and a clawed hand rubbing his chin. Indiscreet? Never, not when baked goods are concerned. He's trying to devise a way to get in there...but without doing some serious damage there are no options. No matter he doesn't want to alarm anyone so sometime later he will make his way down to the lake and there he will be, talking to himself, and staying there for the majority of well...however long this decides to last. He's honestly not going to be able to make a voice post with huge vicious claws anytime soon. Besides he can probably be heard from anywhere anyway; his voice carries nicely in this form.
]

Oh for goodness sake I don't know how they deal with being this large. [ There's a pause and a snort. ] I suppose the experiment is still going on then. [ Another sigh though it sounds more like an annoyed growl. ] But they can change their forms into humans. I wonder if I can just get that right...and then there is the ring. [ He will just be babbling don't mind the brooding dragon, lounging beside the lake, tapping a clawed hand into the ground folks. He is merely thinking and when Helios thinks it's usually good...sometimes. But you might want to watch the tail it's swaying erratically because that thing has a mind of its own. ]

((ooc; So you can meet him at any point in time! The time continuum is pretty broken in this post. While he's walking, at the bakery, or in the woods by the lake just specify I guess. Also he's going to stick out like a sore thumb anywhere he goes anyway. I'll be replying with [livejournal.com profile] isthemyth for icon convenience. Also replies will be delayed since I has class~))

There are worse.

[And later on it will turn out to be some small mercy that Helios is a dragon, because that means that Giles can't hunt him down come nightfall.

He'd rather remember this than that. That the cake really is very sweet, that it's almost like the donuts Xander would buy when the end of the world loomed. Some small respite in the midst of madness, meant to be shared with friends.]

[identity profile] isthemyth.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm. [ He'll eat the rest of that cake silently before looking up at the sky. ] Ah, well, call me soft for saying so but it's times like these that I can actually enjoy this place. Forget about all the nasty things that have happened and just enjoy the moment as is. I know it's silly to go about it that way, but despite the horrors instilled on us by the Malnosso...I'm rather grateful to have met everyone here.

So am I. You are soft, Helios, but that isn't a character flaw. I've met a lot of very good people here and I'll be sad to part from them. [You being very much included, Helios.] I never thought the day would actually come when I really was a librarian, but I am enjoying it.

Honestly, if the Malnosso weren't so persistent in tormenting us, if I didn't have a future to catch up on, I wouldn't mind staying here a while. It's only recently that the Malnosso became worse than the Hellmouth at all.

[identity profile] isthemyth.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
It isn't? I sometimes wonder if being a bit too soft causes more trouble. [ Apep, Absscheulich. He should've destroyed it when he had the chance all those years ago. Instead he just locked the remains away in the castle's summoning chamber. Destroying it entirely would have saved a lot of hardship in the long run. Then there was Amnesia... ] You were a librarian before this?

Mm there's still so much for me to do back home as well. I'd give anything to learn how they pull people from different worlds though. Just to be able to visit people from time to time.

I was pretending to be a librarian. It gave me a place to store my books. I was pretending to be a librarian at a public high school, and therefore in very little danger of anyone ever coming to drop by who wasn't there to try and help save the world. It saved time.

Then we blew the school up on Graduation Day, and my apartment got a good deal more crowded. [And Giles got a deal more unemployed. He's still a bit bitter about that.]

[identity profile] isthemyth.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah--oh. Well that's one way to celebrate I suppose. [ Don't mind him he's just laughing. ] I can't even imagine the castle getting, erm, blown up.

[ Honestly that makes him a bit uncomfortable to even think about. His poor castle. ]

Also one way to stop a gigantic, demonic snake from making its first meal of the graduating class. [He is completely serious and calm as he says this. Because that is Giles' life, in a nutshell.]

[identity profile] isthemyth.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Demonic snake, oh dear. I figured there was another reason for such a measure. You don't seem like the type of person to blow up places of higher education at any rate.

[ And for some reason this doesn't surprise Helios. Because his life in a nutshell kinda deals with all that too. What are their lives, honestly. ]

No, I should think not. Not even in Sunnydale. Fortunately it was, um, a very well controlled blast. [Because Giles knows explosives way too well.] Unfortunately, the Mayor brought plenty of reinforcements.

[Their lives are weird, that's what. It's a thankless job, but somebody's got to do it.]

[identity profile] isthemyth.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
That's good, that's very good. As long as no one was hurt. Building can be rebuilt at least. Reinforcements?

[ Yeah pretty much. At least it makes for good conversation...sort of? ]

Vampires. One of the side effects of the Mayor's transformation was that it blotted out the sun, so vampires were free to attack the student body as long as they didn't get in the Mayor's way. Fortunately, we'd planned for that eventuality, as well, and we had a couple of teams waiting for them.

[As far as Giles is concerned, it makes for awesome conversation. Part of Luceti's charm is that there are people who seem to agree.]

[identity profile] isthemyth.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
The Mayor? You mean of Sunnydale? He was a vampire, or is that merely just a title? Like an Elder vampire or some such thing. [ He shakes his head. Never a dull moment for you is it? ]

Either way the most that's ever happened at graduation in the castle is a skirmish or two between angels and demons. You'd be surprised how snippy they can get with one another, despite being thousands of years old.

The Mayor of Sunnydale, yes. He was human, at least to start with, but he'd made several pacts with several very powerful demons that allowed him to achieve immortality in preparation for his ascension to becoming a True Demon. In exchange, he founded Sunnydale for vampires and demons to hunt in.

So he didn't exactly have to work hard to round up a few to do his dirty work when he needed it.

[identity profile] isthemyth.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
[ His eyes widen a bit at that. ]

Making pacts with demons...of all the things. Summonings, perhaps, but pacts are entirely different.

Fortunately, most of said demons weren't the sort to involve themselves directly in the Mayor's affairs. As long as he appeased them and offered up their proper tribute, they gave him his powers and stayed out of our hair. [He doesn't mention that one such demon demanded its tribute in babies every thirty years. Because that might just put Helios off his cake.]
