ϡ - Appointments Post

This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. This can be used to thread with Helios anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written).

[ Ginia might smell the cooking of doughnuts, pretzels and other confectionery goods today when she steps inside the house. Helios might just be napping on the couch in the living room with Odin curled up at the foot of the couch and Edna curled up on his stomach along with Orenji curled up at the top of the couch's spine. Yep he was totally reading, getting lots of reading done he was. He'll startled from his position and sit up abruptly. That gets an annoyed meow from Edna. And Odin perks up as well hearing the familiar voice of Ginia. ]

Ginia?! [ Sorry Edna but you get the couch to yourself as Helios gets up, putting the book on the coffee table as goes to greet the other. He is all smiles as he gets closer. ] You're back. W-Welcome back I mean! A-Are you hungry? Should-should I make you something?

[There's nothing better than stepping into a warm house filled with the smell of fresh baked goods. She smiles and laughs softly as Helios sits up and her dog comes over, tail a wagging.]

Thank you. It's good to be back. And I'm a little hungry, but there's no need to trouble yourself. I can get something from the fridge. Though my, it smells good here. Have you and Giles been baking?

Nonsense! I'll make you something fresh you just got back from a mission after all. I insist. [ He is so not letting you make your own food after getting right back Ginia. Nope. Not happening! Helios' smile drops just a little as he makes his way into the kitchen. ] Giles...he was, um, he was t-taken by-by the droids. I-I was too late to help. [ He sounds...sad, dour, mainly because he's been alone for the past several days but staying with Robert and talking to others has kept him occupied. Less worried, kept his mind off things. So Ginia coming back has eased that tension and worry to at least half. ]

I'm not going to change your mind, am I. [Ginia chuckles quietly as she kneels to scratch Odin behind his ears and kiss the top of his head. She stops when she hears Giles is gone, kidnapped even, her expression falling slightly. Worry and sorry fills her, but she squishes it all down. There's nothing that can be done now but patrol and pray for his safe return back.]

Don't blame yourself, Helios. And I'm sorry. That I couldn't here. [She's aware of the hypocrisy in her words, but it wasn't fair for him to be alone.]

How have you been?

Unfortunately not at all. [ He smiles looking back at her and Odin. He's silent for a few moments. ] I-I was going out every night. P-Patrolling for him, but, but nothing turned up. [ Helios sighs sadly shaking his head. ] There's nothing to be sorry about. You were out on a mission a-and we can never tell when these things will occur.

[ Says the man who is blaming himself slightly for it happening. Helios pauses not answering for several seconds. After everything that happened last week between Giles and him? And then Ginia going off to a mission after it along with Giles? It...was...lonely. He's used to being alone but it was strange this time. It's never really affected him before now. ]

Fine. I-I've been fine. Looking out for the, um, new feathers that have been coming in. The poor things. [ He shakes his head an annoyed sigh passing his lips. ] I wish they would give people decent clothing for this sort of weather, you know? It's positively ridiculous sometimes.

If you go out again tonight, I'll join you. [Because what is sleep when your significant other could be out there injured or worse?] But no, we never can tell. But I'm back now so... so hopefully he'll return soon. It'll be okay.

[New Feathers. She sighs as she remembers what month it is and what it means.] I know, but I guess the Malnosso don't really care about that. Have there been a lot coming in?

[ He might eye Ginia with a slight frown. ] Only if you're up to it. No need pushing yourself I-I know that you're probably worried though. But, but you did just get back a-and you shouldn't...shouldn't push yourself... [ But he can't blame you for wanting to go out. Especially when someone you deeply care about is out there having god knows what done to them. ]

They really don't care about a good few things that are easily fixed. [ A huff. ] But yes there have been a good few of them coming in. Especially recently. You'll probably hear several over the network in the next few hours or days, even. I still wonder what determines the amount of people brought in but I suspect my curiosity will continue to be insatiable when it comes to things like that. [ But ah he can dare to dream, can't he? ]

[Ginia gives a dismissive wave of her hand. Even if she was completely exhausted and bedridden, she'd still try to get out there to patrol for Giles. He'd do the same for her.] I'll heal up and take a nap, but I'll be fine. You know I can't sit around when he could come back any day.

So it's begun again. I'll have to stop by the Welcome Center and make sure there's plenty of extra clothes and blankets there. Food too. Oh dear, I hope we have enough people patrolling. And I've wondered that too. It seems to be a substantial number of people each time, and yet the village seems to be able to support everyone. I suppose people also return home at a regular pace so things balance out, but... it's very curious.

[ Heal up... Helios blinks looking at her. ] Oh goodness I-I'm so sorry for not asking sooner. D-Do you want me to, to help you with that? Th-the healing I mean? [ He can be so absentminded sometimes, honestly. ]

I think we're safe for now. Despite the influx of people we usually always manage to keep up with everyone who comes in. I had mentioned to Rydia about putting up a spell for people who land extremely far out in the woods. I'm still not quite sure how to do it though...

[Ginia smiles and waves her hand again, getting back to her feet and heading toward the couch. Odin follows behind as Orenji hops up onto the back of the couch to meow at her.] Don't worry about it, it's nothing I can't take care of myself. Nothing major at all.

Some sort of spell to let us know if someone is out there? Or something else?

[ A slight frown as he looks her over. He can't see anything openly wrong but that obviously didn't mean there wasn't. Still he'll back down a little. ] If...you're certain.

Yes something like that exactly. It would be like the barrier spell only...just used to send out warning signals when people cross over a certain threshold. Different plots would have different signals so as to not get people confused.

I am. I promise, nothing bad. Just sore, bruised, and a little cut up. As to be expected when fighting in the mountains.

I think that's a very good idea. It's so difficult pinpointing where people are sometimes and if someone ends up by the lake or the mountains, it could take awhile to reach them.

I do hope so, Ginia. [ Still unsure but he will relent just slightly. ]

Yes that's what I figured it would be used for. For the, um, more out of touch places really. Close to the town wouldn't need them but way out by the lakes or even the hot spring? It would definitely help during the winter.

[ as the two of them will soon see later in the afternoon.

His voice gets a bit lower a bit more dour in those next few minutes. ] It would help...anyone returning or-or just lost in general upon arrival.

If I were in any sort of dire shape, I'd let you know. [Well... maybe not. She truly hates worrying her friends and Helios already does so much for no. No, she probably would have gone to the clinic first, then pretend all was good.

[A hint of a frown tickles the edge of her expression. Oh, Giles, please come back in a safe state.] It would. I don't know what I would be able to do, but if you need any help, let me know. And... he'll be okay.

[ A sigh. No you wouldn't Ginia and neither would he to be fair. It's probably one of the main traits they all share in common and it's not a very good trait to have, really. ]

I appreciate it, truly I do, Ginia. I'll be sure to ask you if there is anything. B-But I think I can manage. [ A pause. ] Of course he will be. And we're here to make sure that he is otherwise.

[No, it really isn't. The pitfalls of not wanting to worry your friends.]

Think he'll return soon? It seems like most people aren't gone for more than a week.
