[ You can have a view of Helios leaning back in his chair, rather comfortably actually. He's in his room and in said background are scattered papers and objects. Incidentally he doesn't have his glasses on today, might be due to the fact that he's conducting a delicate experiment in his room. Keyword being delicate. If you catch a glimpse of any of the papers in the background it'll make no sense if you can't read runes. Though one in particular has the diagram of a ring with various lines and runic lettering on it. Helios will lean forward smiling at the journal. ]

Ah, I hope it's on. Erm, yes. [ Clearing his throat he still doesn't get these things. He just brings a hand to his chin, characteristic thoughtful pose is go! ]

I wonder...many of you know about magic, of course. But how many of you can actually apply magical attributes to an inanimate object? Like--ah, enchantments! They're rather tricky and if done wrong they can well...blow up in your face- [ Or you colleague's faces. ] -but they can be used for all sorts of things. Like making a sword into a flaming sword by applying a fire spell to said sword, and when the right incantation is spoken it alights!

[ A thoughtful hum. ] Also are there any myths or legends in your worlds based around objects? Like Excalibur, hammer of Thor, or maybe even the holy grail? Just wondering...all out of curiosity. [ And possibly to further his own research, maybe even get some help on the little project he's been doing since Halloween. Except during his little questioning session the spell he was trying to place on said inanimate objects will begin to sizzle in the background. Smoke is going to start clouding the video and sparks can be seen as well. His eyes will widen as he turns abruptly knocking the journal on the floor and turning off the video function but not the voice. ]

Oh! No-no not again. This wasn't supposed to--! [ There's a very loud bang and the room shakes with it. Sorry housemates there will be a spillage of black, with what seems to have shards of diamonds sprinkled throughout it, smoke coming from Helios' room as he slams the door open. Helios' face will also bear the marks of said explosion as he tumbles out of the room, face and clothes covered in black soot, but he at least has journal in hand. Also people over the journals can hear him coughing rather a lot. Before long you'll hear him laughing though, replying rather amused. ] Ah, yes, very tricky!

[ Going to be brushing off the fact that just happened. You didn't hear anything, everything is fine. Okay, well, Frederic and Giles might be a tad bit annoyed. ]

Um, right, welcome to Luceti all of you who've just been brought here! It takes a bit to get used to everything but we luckily have a nice welcoming committee! You're free to answer those questions as well if you want to! Anyone can as they are open to everyone to answer.

[ Don't mind the fact he just blew himself up, nope. A brief pause on his end. ]

Hm...oh, is that on fire? That is on fire. Just-just a moment. [ Going to go put that out now yup and you can just...talk to him after wards. Derpy derp nice way to introduce yourself to all the new people, Helios. ]

I-I wasn't trying it just...sort of happened. This spell has been giving me nothing but trouble. I thought I finally had it, too. But everything is fine. The fire was a sm-small one. Not that, that's any consolation.

[ Just sounding very sheepish now. ]

If something is troubling enough to cause fires, I think you should quit while you're ahead.

But I can't quit now. I almost have this spell figured out! Well...not almost but cl-close enough.

Can you at least get a fire extinguisher of some sort then? Or a fire marshal's approval.

It's already been put out thanks to a very nice air and water spell. Fire marshal...I don't we have one of those--

[ Oh. Are you making fun of him Paprika? ]

I guess we should mail order one in right?

How much do you think a mail order across the universes might cost?

[ He doesn't knooow. But it's meaan. ]

No currency in Luceti, so I would say free of charge. A good bargain.

Very true. I think it's going to be a bit tricky getting someone to actually ship someone out here though.

[ Between you and Giles he's going to have to deal with teasing and bluntness. But there's a sigh on his end. Helios has been meaning to speak with Paprika for awhile. Ever since the end of the event actually. ]

But...ah. I-I been meaning to speak with you. I just...was busy. [ More like been avoiding it. ]

What can you do huh?

[She pauses when he speaks again though. Oh great. She has a feeling where this is going actually. Truth be told she doesn't want to even talk about that of all things, but she isn't going to tell that to Helios. It's part of her job to hear people out after all.]

We all get busy sometimes, so it's fine. What's up?

[ He takes a deep breath. Of course Helios rather not remember that either. But he...has to apologize or at least he feels he does. So he will because he doesn't know what else he could do. ]

I-I just...wanted to apologize for what happened. That, um, that wasn't me. Thank you, though, for helping s-stop me.

[Apologize for...oh.]

For what happened near the end right? Don't worry about it, really. I was just doing my best to help. [Plus she can't honestly remember why he was acting that way, only that it was a bad thing. From what she does remember it seemed that 'she' knew it at the time, but those memories didn't stick.] You got help that night, right? I heard Giles went in to help in person.

He did. He-he helped st-stop me. [ From almost killing Robert. ]

But I just wanted to say I appreciated everything.

Hey, it's all in the past, right? You don't need to apologize for something you couldn't control or help. Really, don't blame yourself. It wasn't your fault Helios.

I-I know, you're right. Thank you. It was technically the Malnosso's fault really.

Ninety percent of the problems caused here are their fault. [She says, chuckling a little after overhearing his small voice.] Try not to get yourself hurt from the fire spell. That faults into the ten percentage that you can't blame on them.

O-Oh! That-that wasn't a fire spell. At least that wasn't my intention. More like a spell going...haywire just a bit. [ Okay a lot. Clears his throat. ]

If that was 'a bit' then I'm afraid what will happen when you really mess it up. Not that I think you will, if you work on it in a safer environment.

Ahaha, yes. Good thing the barrier was up, it took most of brunt of it. And yes outside of the apartment...will remember to do that next time.

[ He really doesn't like the clean up. He also got caught up again and totally forgot to take his little magical science project outside, derp. ]

You know- [ even if you don't let him ramble for a minute. ] -it's these blasted symbols. They're being ever so finicky, I never seem to get it just right. [ Huff. ]

But that's progress for you ever so slow.

[ It's such a paain. But he did make a promise and he will stick to it. ]

Symbols? Is that how you make your magic work? No cool lines to it?

Well the symbols can be translated into...incantations if that's what you mean. Most spoken spells are in latin though.

Yeah that's what I mean. Like 'abracadabra' and 'alakazam', right?

[At least she didn't mention 'hocus pocus'...]

[ Helios will laugh. ]

I wish spells were that simple. It's usually a sentence or two for my world. Though I'm finding that many others just need a simple word or nothing at all to use their own spells. If only it could be applied to my own.

Stage magicians have it so much easier these days. I guess even magic is different between worlds then. Maybe its possible to learn different magic between different worlds?

They certainly do! But it is entertaining to watch them. [ Even if it's not real magic Helios still respects it because he's, well, Helios. ]

I have been able to teach Frederic my world's magic. And perhaps it's an effect of Luceti since anyone can really learn filial magic with relative ease. This world's ability might be affecting the learn difference between worlds in slight, but noticeable ways.
