ϡ - Chapter FortySix; Even the rain can't keep away the sweets [action|voice|video]

[ The light rain in the enclosure does not stop Helios today. He's feeling rather happy and in a mood to share the wonderful change to the outside of House 44. Who knows, maybe someone else would like to do it as well, it's only fair to make people aware of the changes allowed. So the video feed with kick on with Helios smiling happily and a rather gorgeous looking castle in the background. ] I'm happy to say that the shift acquired to t-turn one of the houses here has worked quite well so far. I wasn't sure if anyone was into this sort of thing but, ah, it's a nice reminder of home. I just wanted to show people that we can actually change the outward appearances of the houses here. The inside still remains the same however, but it's an improvement I think.

[ And with that happy note he'll close the video feed and continue on his way into town. So any passerby who is around town will note the stand he’s put up covered with delectable sweets and treats. It’s mainly for the new feathers but anyone is welcome to stop by and have some. People are free to stay in the surprisingly dry bubble around said stand when the rain is especially hard. ]

So it seems like new feather arrivals are upon us once more. It’s very nice to meet you all. I-I hope you get situated relatively quickly. It can be a bit daunting, I know, but if there’s anything you need help with don’t hesitate to ask around. Everyone here is very friendly and rather open when it comes to helping out. If you’re in the village this afternoon I’ve setup a stand with, ah, some sweets should anyone want some. There’s no need to be shy either! These are for everyone, old and new, so stop on by if you’re hungry or just need something sweet.

[ Helios is very chipper and it’s clear that he’s open towards anyone taking the baked goods he’s offering. ]

As for more serious business, I’d like to make an announcement to the village as a whole. Last year we had something known as the Cultural Fair in Luceti, wherein people setup stands and booths that displayed and portrayed parts of their home worlds. It can be whatever you want to show; whether it’s food, games, or even pictorial representations of indigenous species in your world. Anything and everything is allowed ah, well, as long as it’s safe and not t-too terribly messy of course! The fair is going to occur in June fifth. There are posters around town if you haven’t already seen them which also advertise the fair as well. If you have any questions I-I’m open towards talking about it. Or, ah, if you attend the school Professor Raine or Professor Layton can help you with any questions you have as well.

[ And then he’ll pause again before humming slightly as he collects his thoughts. ]

Ah yes! There is one more thing. The magic club which was run previously by Harry Dresden has been absent of late. I-I do want to continue the various projects and meetings if anyone from the prior club still wished to partake in such activities. I-I think coming together and pooling our skills collectively could really turn up some…interesting ideas and prospective projects to help the village along. Perhaps we could have another meeting a week or so after the cultural fair to discuss some things in more detail. I-I would just like people to respond if-if you’re still interested in, ah, learning or doing anything with the club in general. [He's smiling on his end, though does show an interest in what Helios says next.]

What projects need to be finished? I could use my magic to help with them.

That would be lovely Frederic! I'm sure people would appreciate your work. I've found myself missing your playing actually. It's been far too long since I got to listen to some lovely classic music.

[ Helios is smiling too his voice conveying his approval. ]

The airship. And a, ah, ley line. I-I think those are two of the more personal ones, but other people will probably need to help to get them started and finished. They're rather large projects to be honest. Also I-I wanted to try and devise a way to allow non-magic wielding people to harness magic to protect themselves should the enclosure ever come under attack. Not-not filial spirit related but actual spells from other worlds.

Well I'll be certain to fill your life again with all my compositions.

[He listens intently then nods.]

Of course I will help you with this project. Do you think it's possible for non-magic wielders to learn magics of other world?

[ He is happy as a clam to hear you say that. ]

I'm glad, to both things! I could certainly use all the help I can get with the magic club. I-I'm not sure about non-magic wielders using magic but-but it might be possible if it's through a third party means. Like a piece of jewelry or-or something else. It's worth a try at least, it can't hurt to try something no one ever has before.

[He nods and gives a small smile.]

Of course, let us work towards these goals.

[ Helios' smile is kind and happy more so than Frederic has ever seen before probably. ]

You're my dearest friend, Helios. Of course I want to help you in any way I could.

Ah, I know that. But you did just get back, so you should focus on getting resettled too you know? But I will appreciate any help you're willing to offer.

Helios, you know how I am. I am always about work before pleasure.

[ Helios waves the other man off. Yes, yes he knows. Though there's a fond smile on his lips as he sighs and nods. ]

Of course, of course. But you should get settled still. The club meeting won't be for a few weeks at least, so no need to jump into things just yet.

[Your bro/best friend is a workaholic, Helios. You should be used to this by now.]

I've already begun looking for inspiration to compose new music. Perhaps working with the magic club will inspire me further.

Ah! That's a wonderful idea! I-I'm sure you'll manage something with enough inspiration and time. [ Time was of no issue here at least. ]

I do hope it helps at least. Having creative blocks is just dreadful at times.

[He nods before something comes back to his mind.]

Ah Helios, speaking of magic... Perhaps you can answer something for me. Can find a way to make color or pictures with my music? I meant to ask you this some time ago, but it slipped my mind.

[ Helios' eyes widen at the prospect. His expression turning thoughtful and excited all at once. ]

That's a fantastic idea! It's crossed my mind before but I never got the chance to tell you. I-I'd love to be able to do something like that! It might take sometime, but I would definitely accept this little project of ours.

[He gives Helios a warm smile.]

Thank you my friend, I will help you as much as possible. I hope we could use it in a future concert or possibly something for Christmas.

Oh, please, it's no trouble at all Frederic. No need to thank me just yet. [ He will just give the other man a slightly derpy smile. ]

You can thank me when we have you playing and showing a movie at once. But I think it might be possible to do before Christmas, that is quite a few months away after all.

[He gives a nod though speaking of months...]

Ah on the subject of months, I saw a calendar recently. It would seem that my birthday has passed already in Luceti. Last I remember, I was almost forty one. Does that mean I'm forty one now or forty? As when I returned home, it was still October.

I-I think we can give you a pass on the age aspect, Frederic. [ He gives the man a wry smile and a soft laugh. ]

Let's just say you're forty and call it even, hm? No need to rush that sort of thing here after all.

[He's laughing a bit at that.]

Yes, I suppose you're right. I don't need to rush myself in growing old.

[ Helios scoffs and shakes his head. ]

Most certainly not. I'm about ready to not even have my birthday count here, being thirty five is old enough I think. [ Though he says it in a teasing manner as he laughs a little afterwards. ]

[Frederic shakes his head in return with a small laugh. Man, thirty five isn't old.]

Thirty five isn't that old, my friend. You're still young.

I suppose but I am catching up to the older human members in these parts. [ Soon enough they'll be having an adults only club. ]

You make it sound to be a terrible tragedy, Helios.

[He laughs softly.]

[ He holds up his hands and shakes his head in a slightly placating manner. Though he's laughing all the while as he shakes his head. ]

Oh heaven's no! I-I didn't mean it like that at all. Getting older is a part of life, it's nothing to feel tragedy over. You gain more memories as you live onward and learn more lessons too.

[He listens to Helios' words and then slightly blurts out something.]

Perhaps I will be able to live a few more years now that I am no longer ill.
