ϡ - Chapter FortyNine; This is Halloween [action|video]

[ From the 9th-14th ] )

[ Early evening of the 10th ] )

S-Speaking of Halloween. [ Halloween tended to have bad shifts and even though his past two weren’t so fond, he still tries to have a positive outlook on the Halloween. He doesn’t want the shifts to sour one of his favorite times of the year. ] I know there’s a lot of…things that have happened recently, but maybe something to liven up people spirits might be good. Help get p-people's minds off of things and all that. [ He wasn’t unknowing towards the shift bomb or the Iron Eye, it still made his stomach turn at learning about all those people gone forever because of the decision of people in this very enclosure. ] Oh! Maybe a-a pumpkin carving contest! Those are always fun and you can make lots of pumpkin pie from the rest of the pumpkin. [ Pumpkin pie for the entire village yes, good. ]

((ooc; You can run into Helios with action from the 9th-14th. He'll be around town and the house. The 10th can be used for voice or action as well~))

ϡ - Chapter Thirty; Winter Wonderland antics [Voice|Action]

[ Good morning Luceti if you’re in town today, and probably in the surrounding areas as well, you’ll notice some large lumbering pure white figures walking about some might even be flying. No, no, they aren’t harmful in the least, although the creatures they take after might argue otherwise, and they are not yetis or other such things that come out in the thickest of snowfalls. What they however are the products of one derpy headmaster feeling the Christmas cheer thanks to the effects the Malnosso have put in place and him waking up very early in the morning after the snowfall last night to make said creatures. There will be various mythological snow creatures walking about today though none of them can make much noise or do much of anything, they’re pretty docile actually and if you wanted to you could probably even ride on top of them they won't mind, really! There will be a dragon with icicles for horns and teeth following Helios around as he makes his way into town. He’ll be there for a good portion of the day also making a majestic Griffin, and a snow unicorn. That’s not to say these are the only things that’ll be popping up. Other mythological creatures might be seen around as well. Phoenixes, mandrakes, minotaurs, kitsunes, Kodama in the more forested areas and even Nue. The list is really endless and well Helios has been having probably too much fun doing this. Some of them will be life sized, but nothing too extravagant or outlandish, lets say the tallest would be around ten or so feet tall, while others miniature. They’ll all be moving and just mulling about and you can be sure they’re movements are quite like the real things if you’ve ever encountered one.

They can be interacted with through the entire day with Helios sometimes in accompaniment. And later into the afternoon Helios will be found in the town square with his snowy dragon companion making your standard issued snowmen, each one getting their own complimentary hat, scarf, and pipe. He'll take a break and eventually pull out his journal for a short little network post.
]

Ah there's nothing like freshly fallen snow to make a good sturdy snowman out of, is there? I used to do it all the time back in Romania. I believe there was even a game that whoever had the best would have to make hot chocolate for everyone...with extra marshmallows. [ A thoughtful hum. ]

I was thinking...has Luceti ever had a snowman or ice sculpture competition? I've seen some extremely good ones around as of late. I think we could have a rather good turn out, quite the competition too, all in good fun though!

[ He may not be able to summon mythica into existence here, without the dangers of the side effects it would impose on his own world, but that doesn't mean he can't build them as an alternative! And because he just has to ask... ] Are there any creatures in your worlds that can control this element or are at least generally associated with it? Yuki-onna is one of the better known ones in mine. A tall and beautiful woman with black hair and blue lips. She's said to be quite cold, figuratively and literally, but she also has a more motherly and good side to her. The Snow Queen is another one, based on Yuki-onnas, and then there's even Jack Frost too. All are very similar in the fact that they deal with this element. And let's not forget Yetis, interesting beings yetis are. They have quite knowledge of mountaineering not that I expected any less of course.

[ He totally knows this from experience guys. Not like anyone is surprised anymore. ] I suppose Santa Claus can work too tis the season after all! I wonder if the people here had anyone like him? Ah, well, left to speculation at this point hm? I do hope everyone has a good holiday though, you can never get too into the spirit of things.

[ Albeit the Malnosso seem to fit that bill at times...but, no, he is not going to let the Malnosso ruin his Christmas not this year. Finally around later in the evening all the snow mythica will go back to being their snowy, sculptural selves, and can be found throughout the village in regal more natural poses. ]

ϡ - Chapter TwentyEight; The headmaster returneth [voice|written|action]

[It's hard to say how it felt coming back from that experience. It was like...a weight had been lifted, really. The reminder of his death finally gone much like the scars he has acquired from it as well. Helios doesn't remember much of what John did to him, the drugs still in implementation to a degree. Either way his glasses can be seen not on his face but in his hands as he stares at them before looking down at his journal with a faint smile. It says his name, nothing special, but he can read it again. He'll adjust them and put them back on a small sigh escaping his lips as he does so. But in the early evening a groggy blonde haired spectacles wearing man can be seen tripping, no surprise there, almost on his own two feet as he makes a vain attempt to reach the library. He manages to...land himself outside the library doors before sliding to the ground in defeat. Too taxing and he's too tired to really go any further. This is nice though, the weather is nice enough, and he hasn't set foot near the library in far too long as it is. Despite the destination not fully met, Helios isn't all too bothered given his state he’s actually rather content even. If anyone walks by he'll be sitting there for a long while, eyes closed almost as if he’s not entirely awake. He's definitely not going anywhere that's for sure. But! That's what the journals are for is it not?

The writing that comes over the network is slightly messy but still eligible.
] I'm...I'm back. I hope I didn't miss anything in those few brief days? You never can tell what Luceti will throw at a moment's notice though, hm? [Oh this is wonderful, this is...amazing. After four months he can actually read again. While no big deal to some...Helios has missed the comforting act very, very much. But...something is off just a little. He's pretty sure there's no colors when people write...so why was he seeing them? The transmission switches to voice. ]

That's rather odd. Would anyone be so kind as to assist me by writing their name? Or anything really. I-ah, it's very weird... [ A thoughtful hum on his end there's the sound of a pen tapping against a hand. Before long this shows up on the screen. ]

Ha! Fascinating. I'm not sure what it is but...unless this is another strange experiment... [Which it very well might be. Still Helios will switch back to writing just to see what colors letters will be and whatnot. He’s like a five-old okay? The drugs aren’t helping either. ]

It’s getting closer and closer to Halloween isn’t it? Ahh! Halloween is orange. [Getting off track Helios, focus, focus! ] But! Yes. There’s a tradition back in my world for those not of the faint of heart, and with the will and courage to brave the strange and unknown. It’s simply known as one man hide-and-seek. Strange, I know, but the children and teenagers back in my world seem to enjoy it. It’s become something of an infamous hit in my time. There are several steps and items one must take and use in order to ensure their safety while playing it.

[ He can’t really write out too much now. He’s so out of it and it really just hit him, oh dear. But he will manage to write out the steps, poorly and in worse writing that before, but it’s still legible…he thinks. ]

A guide on how to play one man hide-and-seek )

I think that covers it. If you have any questions or concerns about it do let me know and I will try to answer to the best of my abilities. Let’s see what type of spirits are residing in Luceti.

Oh and do try to not get too spooked; it’s all about having fun after all.
[ If you could see his face there would be a wry smirk on it. ]

[Voice: Poorly Filtered to Frederic sometime later]
[ He sounds rather tired but the concern is evident in his voice. ]

I’m terribly sorry about…about missing today. I-I tried to get…to get this penalty removed as fast as possible. Are you alright? W-Would you mind if I stopped by? [ Nevermind him actually getting there. He'll drag himself if he has to. ]

((ooc; Sorry for the tl;dr folks. And for those who are curious Helios just came back from his death penalty removal so he currently has synesthesia for the next week until it wears off. ))

ϡ - Chapter TwentyThree; In which one deals with tricky spells [video/action for housemates/voice]

[ You can have a view of Helios leaning back in his chair, rather comfortably actually. He's in his room and in said background are scattered papers and objects. Incidentally he doesn't have his glasses on today, might be due to the fact that he's conducting a delicate experiment in his room. Keyword being delicate. If you catch a glimpse of any of the papers in the background it'll make no sense if you can't read runes. Though one in particular has the diagram of a ring with various lines and runic lettering on it. Helios will lean forward smiling at the journal. ]

Ah, I hope it's on. Erm, yes. [ Clearing his throat he still doesn't get these things. He just brings a hand to his chin, characteristic thoughtful pose is go! ]

I wonder...many of you know about magic, of course. But how many of you can actually apply magical attributes to an inanimate object? Like--ah, enchantments! They're rather tricky and if done wrong they can well...blow up in your face- [ Or you colleague's faces. ] -but they can be used for all sorts of things. Like making a sword into a flaming sword by applying a fire spell to said sword, and when the right incantation is spoken it alights!

[ A thoughtful hum. ] Also are there any myths or legends in your worlds based around objects? Like Excalibur, hammer of Thor, or maybe even the holy grail? Just wondering...all out of curiosity. [ And possibly to further his own research, maybe even get some help on the little project he's been doing since Halloween. Except during his little questioning session the spell he was trying to place on said inanimate objects will begin to sizzle in the background. Smoke is going to start clouding the video and sparks can be seen as well. His eyes will widen as he turns abruptly knocking the journal on the floor and turning off the video function but not the voice. ]

Oh! No-no not again. This wasn't supposed to--! [ There's a very loud bang and the room shakes with it. Sorry housemates there will be a spillage of black, with what seems to have shards of diamonds sprinkled throughout it, smoke coming from Helios' room as he slams the door open. Helios' face will also bear the marks of said explosion as he tumbles out of the room, face and clothes covered in black soot, but he at least has journal in hand. Also people over the journals can hear him coughing rather a lot. Before long you'll hear him laughing though, replying rather amused. ] Ah, yes, very tricky!

[ Going to be brushing off the fact that just happened. You didn't hear anything, everything is fine. Okay, well, Frederic and Giles might be a tad bit annoyed. ]

Um, right, welcome to Luceti all of you who've just been brought here! It takes a bit to get used to everything but we luckily have a nice welcoming committee! You're free to answer those questions as well if you want to! Anyone can as they are open to everyone to answer.

[ Don't mind the fact he just blew himself up, nope. A brief pause on his end. ]

Hm...oh, is that on fire? That is on fire. Just-just a moment. [ Going to go put that out now yup and you can just...talk to him after wards. Derpy derp nice way to introduce yourself to all the new people, Helios. ]

ϡ - Chapter Sixteen; this is halloween [voice/action]

Halloween...Halloween. [ He sounds contemplative and hums a little before continuing. ] What to say about it. [ A pause there's the sounds of something be unwrapped probably a candy knowing Helios's sweet tooth. Then almost automatically there's the sound of 'mmm' in the silent background. How has he not gotten a cavity yet? ] I do hope the ghosts in the castle behave themselves this year. They love playing practical jokes around this time...April Fools isn't any better. [ Damn ghost kids always making trouble for him! Good thing he doesn't have to deal with it this year, haha! Though Ra might light the castle on fire... ] Ah...best to not think of such things. [ He'll just clear his throat because oh the horror, his poor castle. ] I distinctly recall that Halloween's roots go back to Samhain and the Celtic festival held in light of that. But today it's widely distributed and practiced pretty much everywhere. Samhain is...er Gaelic for summer's end. It was originally a harvest festival as they were generally more prominent back in the day you know? [ He laughs. ] What with farming relying on the sun Samhain was the end of the lighter half of the season and the beginning of the darker one. Something like day lights savings time or the summer and winter solstices.

Ah but! There's a catch! Many people believe that on this day the border between the living and dead became so thin that spirits could cross over and thus allowed the dead to cross back over from the living world into their own. This event brought up the custom of wearing costumes and masks which people did back then to help ward off the spirits and were used them to calm them down. I'd imagine pumpkin carving came from the old tradition of carving faces into turnips to ward off evil spirits as well.

It's such a wonderful holiday, very rich in folklore and the transition into modern culture is fascinating! The story of Mongfind for example is a folktale for this specific holiday. Modern times has done away with most of that but you know...the spirits of our deceased are always passing over, perhaps more so on that day than most. [ That's totally not a creepy thought nope. He's actually perfectly neutral in saying that it must be the dork in him. ] Ah what typically goes on here during Halloween, trick or treating I would hope? Oh! Perhaps a haunted house or a walk through the woods would definately be eerie. The spirits don't seem to be acting any differently though. [If you only knew what was in store for you Helios. ] Hm...I do wonder if the indigenous population here even knew what it was. There's just so much we don't know about this place. [ Sighs. So many questions yet so little answers. But back to the treats... ] But the best part about Halloween is...the candy! [ He sounds like a five year old don't mind him. ] What's everyone's favorite type? You can never go wrong with having too many favorites either!

ϡ - chapter thirteen; rememberance [action|written]

[ Around mid-afternoon Helios will be making his way across town with a small bundle of flowers in his hands. It might seem a bit odd, random even, but today is a rather...hard day for him; regardless he does have a small smile on his face as he makes his way through town. There's soft hum coming from his lips, absentmindedly and almost indistinguishably if you're not close enough. It's a soft melody and peaceful, or as peaceful as he can manage it to be. He has his journal with him just in case anything goes wrong.

He pauses momentarily at the edge of town, looking back almost as if he's thinking of making a post but...he decides against it for now. And then he turns and heads off into the forest.

He'll return later with one lone flower still in between his fingers and some dirt on both pant legs and his hands. He takes a seat by the fountain in the town square idly looking at his journal and of course the flower he is twirling unmindful with his pointer finger and thumb of his left hand.
]

If you could go back and change one event in your life, would you? Or would leave it as a reminder or perhaps a lesson learned? History is known for teaching us our past mistakes and also to be used in helping us in the future as well. History repeats itself as the saying goes.

ϡ - Chapter Ten; interesting thoughts [voice]

Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven…oh there’s no more sugar left. Hmm I’ll have to pick some up later.

[ The transmission is silent, for some time, but it’s most likely because Helios doesn’t notice it’s on. The sounds of pages turning in a book are the only source of noise to be recognized. He'll give a long sigh. ] Mushi seem to have disappeared as well.

Oh! It’s on- [ He sighs again because he really needs to be more wary of this thing. Why so scatter brained Helios? ]

Hm. [ Tap. Tap. Tap. ] What method or means does magic come from in each of your respective worlds? Are people naturally predisposed to having powers, or are there means to which you may gain them?

ϡ - Chapter Four; curiosity entertained the headmaster [action/voice]

Another experiment is it? Yet I feel fine I do wonder if there's a reason for people being affected or unaffected. But, ah, young love how fruitful and crazy thou art! I suppose counting your blessings for a state of normalcy in this place is hasty even for those who are wise. [ He laughs because all he knows is that tons of people have hooked up this past week. You crazy people, you. ]

So Nala is the healing spirit...hm. [ He sounds a bit occupied and not really all there. The crunching of snow beneath moving feet fills the transmission. ]

I do wonder what...erm the others are like. Healing magic will be useful especially if what was said comes true. I'm sure plenty have come in contact with them. I'd like to know where exactly one can find all the spirits in this place. [ There's a pause and a small sigh as if he's concentrating. ] Nala sounds like a dear, I'm sure we can get along just fine. We have been for the most part and getting the hang of magic is a piece of cake. But the others...hm.

[ His train of thought trails off as he fails to complete that sentence. ] I wonder if it'll work here.

[ For anyone walking around in the woods today feel free to run into him, he's a bit absentminded so you can even possibly sneak up on him and scare the crap out of him. ]

[ ooc; yeah sorry people Helios isn't affected for this event mainly because...well he can't feel that emotion anymore. ]

ϡ - Chapter One; we all fall...in [voice]

[ There’s a very loud thud as something crashes to the ground from the sky. The journal turns on from the subsequent actions of the fallen object nearby. Most likely a body, actually it is, and a cough erupts through the preceding silence. So if you're out wandering about in the woods to the left of the village you'll find a blonde haired man walking around very confused albeit chipper and amused. ]

Haha! That wasn’t the entrance I was expecting! Marvelous how snow can break a fall though! I think if it were anything else I might not have been as fortunate. Must thank Mother Nature when I get back! She always does such a wonderful job with the seasons. But, oh my, th-this place is certainly rural. I-I don’t think this is Romania, ah, no, probably not. At least not any part I'm familiar with. The mountains perhaps? I've always wanted to visit those; they're always so magnificent this time of year. [ There's rustling as if the man whom the voice belongs to is looking around. He still hasn't noticed the journal so he continues on. ]

Hmm. Hello?! Anyone out there? Ah, well as long as there aren't any Yetis here think I'll be quite all right, or those pesky pixies. They always were a fussy bunch. Something seems…a bit different though and I’ve lost my clothes too. I rather liked that outfit, a bit too cold to go without a shirt though. [ Some more silence...wait for, wait for it...bingo! Clothes have been spotted. ]

Ah hah!

[ There’s another pause for a few moments with only ruffling and shifting of fabric against skin and against one another. Fortunately our headmaster's clothes were neatly placed beside him in the snow, how nice! ]

That’s better at least I won't get frost-! What...are those. Wings?! How…how absolutely fantastic! I’ve always wanted to know what it felt like to have them! This place is getting better by the moment! I simply have to investigate now! I think I'll be needing a pair of scissors actually, there aren't any holes in the back of my shirt...
