ϡ - Chapter FiftyThree; recovery [action|voice]
[ Action ]
[ The draft had left everyone feeling disoriented and he was no exception. It might also have to do with the fact that his right wing was broken, along with his arm and a few ribs. His arm and ribs have healed quite a bit since then. The injuries now only light sprains that he wears a brace on his arm for. His wing, however, is taking much longer to heal and it's left him bed ridden for several days since the draft ended. Despite his general and easy return to almost full healthy Helios has been resting in the clinic for a few days. But today he's probably well enough to get up and have a short stroll around the village, maybe even play a little with Luminair and Maggir who are in Saori's care for the time being. Helios can be found at the bakery, library and then the clinic (when he's finally yelled at and dragged back there for being a bad patient) for most of the day. He looks better than he has been and he's not nearly as tired as he was, so overall he's making a pretty good recovery.
It's later into the evening when everything is winding down that he'll make a voice post over the network. ]

I know it-it's been rather rough on most of us these last few days. So I was w-wondering if anyone would like to do a potluck sort of endeavor at-at the welcome center? It could help us all wind down from the obvious thing. But, ah, it's-it's just a suggestion of course.
[ Because food makes everything better, right? ] Also if-if it's not too much trouble would anyone be willing to, ah, talk for a bit? It doesn't have to be about anything in particular, really. I-I've just been having a hard time sleeping lately- [ pain does that to you and of course the creeping sensations he gets when he dreams. Like he's being watched by something and it doesn't go away, it just never seems to go away.] -so perhaps I'll start off with a question. What's your favorite memory of home? It doesn't have to be one specific memory or event. I remember when I was little of going to the town near the castle and getting this fantastic ice cream from the ice cream parlor there. It was homemade, sweet and creamy, absolutely delicious; I haven't had ice cream that lived up to those standards yet. I've always tried to make it myself but it just never tasted quite like that type. [ Helios supposed that was a good thing. It would ruin the true artistry of the ice cream back home. ]
So if you want to talk, feel free to answer. Otherwise I hope you all have a good night.

Desserts take just as much skill as any other course! I do love my sweets so I can't see anything wrong with specializing in that of all things. [ Helios' sweet tooth knows no bounds. ] But that sounds like an interesting little gathering. I-I wouldn't mind stopping by, no. Perhaps I can bring some food from Mythoria for the occasion.
[ He chuckles a little at that. ] Oh, yes, I am. It's hard work but I do love it. As for mythological creatures, they're um similar to pokemon in a sense. They're beings from legends in my world. Dragons, vampires, werewolves, ghosts those sorts of beings. And they all attend my school like any other human would!
[Action]
You sound like you understand better than most! Big fan of sweets?
[Waaaait, dragons, vampires, and werewolves?! Chili looks stunned.]
F-for real?! Aren't you scared at all?!
[Action]
I have a...big sweet tooth yes. [ Understatement of the century. ]
But as for being scared, not at all! I-I suppose when I first started the idea and had to meet with the families of dragons and vampires I was a bit. But I learned that they were all rather nice and not anything like we were told. It made things easier once I got to know them.
[Action; I should've warned for his temper]
The second he's finished, Chili's temper flares and he starts shouting, because he's run into that reaction one too many times and he no longer has that sliver of patience to accommodate.] It ain't fighting! It's battling. Why do people go into pro-wrestling or boxing or any other kinda sport? 'Cause it takes hard work and dedication! My Pokemon wanna be strong and I wanna help them be that way, we make each other stronger! I'm his trainer, he's my partner.
It isn't like that...! It isn't like that at all, nobody's supposed to get badly injured or hurt, like in this place's messed up drafts!
[Hope you're fast, Helios, because Chili's abandoned his food on the nearest surface and might be closing in to grab your shoulders for a shake, in case words aren't enough.]
It's this place, it's this place that forces us to put them in danger! No trainer would willingly throw their partners into the fray like that...!
[Action; rofl it's okay!]
I-I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean to, ah, to offend you... [ he does sound sincere and looks it too. ] Luceti changes a person's perception about a lot of things. I-I shouldn't have judge or said that about your world or your ideals.
[ He looks down at the floor for a moment before looking back at Chili. ] I know that all of you care deeply about them. The Malnosso aren't the same though. I don't think they c-care about anyone's partners or-or friends here.
[Action; thanks for understanding! o/]
I've heard people defendin' them and I can't understand it. How can anyone excuse the hell they put people through?
[Action; no problem. Helios has dealt with worse xC! ]
[ Not that anyone would use, given how it affects their own worlds. ] I-I suppose it's how you think about it, really.
[Action; poor guy! He seems so nice too!]
... all I know is that anyone who'll send a ten year old into a life and death battle is the worst, the lowest of the low.
Returning powers that could be used to their benefit seems like a cheap favour.
[Action; Helios' life is suffering :C ]
