folklorist | ϡ - Chapter Fifty; Let it snow, let it snow [action|voice]

[ Helios will be dumped off unceremoniously into the snow early morning of the 2nd of December. It's a light snow, but it is sticking, so he's bound to be able to make some sculptures with it. It's become something of a tradition and Helios is going to uphold it for as long as he can. Despite the evident bruising and his wobbly steps Helios is going to pretend that he wasn't just dumped into the snow by a pair of droids. He'll set off right to work after returning to House 44 and stopping off at House 51 to check in on Max and his housemates. Ensuring them all that he's not gone and that he had just been mallynapped for a few days. He'll also be busy setting up some Christmas decorations in the Library because tis the season, etc, etc. Once that's taken care of he'll set to work in the plaza.

He'll setup a station with warm cider, coffee, and coco before he makes his sculptures once again around the general vicinity of the town. It's a nice way to bring in the new season and the first snow fall of the year. Luminair and Maggir will be with him as well, Luminair sporting a cute little sweater while Maggir has her thick fur coat. They're both having loads of fun in the snow. Maggir especially since she was built for the weather. The two dragons will run over and play with anyone who walks by including snow mythica. They'll be around town chasing the prancing unicorns, fluttering pixies and swooping phoenixes that dot the sky, each one leaving a trail of snow in the air as they dive and twirl in the air. serpentine dragons will smoothly move through the snow strewn ground in silent majestic grace. Anyone can stop by for some entertain or make your own. ]

How many of you have heard of a Yuki-onna? They're a type of spirit that takes the form of a beautiful woman with raven black hair. They're said to lead traveler's astray to freeze to death in the winter months of Japan. But to be fair I've always found them helpful on my travels. [ He'll laugh a little at that because he got so terribly lost that one time... ]

There's also Amarok, Akhlut, Barbegazi, Hrimthurs, Ijiraq, and some others. But Jotuns, Yetis, Wendigoes, and Father Winter are probably some of the more well known names associated with winter. It's amazing how many mythological creatures are associated with weather when you think about it. Oh! I almost forgot about Jack Frost! He's a very popular character during this time of the year too. [ Derp Helios, derp. ]

But if anyone wants to stop by plaza for some hot coco and to help me build some snow myths feel free to do so! The new cafe in Cloud Nine's place is just about ready to open as well. I have some food from the menu out for snacking on too, if people would oblige me in taste testing them. I think having it open after the New Year will be best since, ah, I still need a good few volunteers to help out with running it. If-if you know anyone or would like to help out feel free to contact me in person or through the journals. I'll certainly be about!

[ And true to his word Helios will definitely have hot plates of food out for people to nibble on as well. It's an assortment of things like pot stickers, some cheese and crackers, and other finger foods. Some of them recognizable while others not so much. ]

[ Helios looks up in surprise at the other man, a soft smile touching his lips as he continues to mold a fairy out of snow. Frederic has been a bit secluded as of late but it's nice to finally see his friend out and about again. ]

But of course! Care to join me?

[Frederic admires the fairy being molded and stands right next to Helios as they continue to talk.]

I'm sorry for not being around as of late, Helios. Between being changed into a rabbit by the Malnosso and having uncertainty in regards to Feliks... I'm at a bit of a crossroads with myself.

[ Helios frowns and shakes his head back at the other. ]

Frederic please. You have no need to apologize to me! I-I'm sure it's all very complicated since he...doesn't exactly remember his previous stay. [ His frown only deepens. ]

If you ever need to talk you can always come to me, know?

[Frederic sits on a near by bench then lets out a soft sigh.]

It's been difficult. I care for him yet he still seems very confused around me. I mean he seems to be slowly opening up to me, however I'm finding that the warmth we once had still isn't there.

[ Helios gives his friend a concerned look as he gets up off the ground and dusts the snow off his pants. He'll take a seat next to the other man, a soft sigh escaping him as well. His expression is neutral as he looks up at the gray sky and watches the snow fall silently around them. ]

I-I can only imagine how you feel, Frederic. If-if it was myself and Elise I'd be devastated. I-I don't even know what I would do... [ and the mere thought sends a shiver through him. ] Perhaps there's some way we could...maybe rekindle those feelings? I mean it's probably best to not rush it, but maybe there's something we could do.

[Frederic turns his gaze from the ground towards Helios and appears a bit confused. What exactly did he mean? Maybe he can get him to explain.]

I'm afraid I don't follow, my friend. What is it that you mean?

Ah...what I mean is that we could, um, setup some-some situations that might help you gain Poland's affections again. [ Though it's really hard to say how Poland will react to such things... ]

If you wanted to of course! It's-it's not really my place to say.

I thought of asking him to dinner between the two of us. Is that what you mean?

[Because he knows Poland more than probably a lot of people here or so he thinks.]

Unless you think I should be more subtle? Maybe a walk then lunch?

More subtle might be better. [ You don't want to rush these things after all. But Helios could see why the other man might want to. ]

Go for a walk, show him around the place if you haven't already. Perhaps even stop by the lake or ocean for a breath of fresh air. [ He smiles. ]

Think of it as having another chance to enjoy his company again.

You're absolutely right, Helios. I need to do exactly that and perhaps I'll be able to bond with him again.

[His face shows absolute determination and confidence. He is ready for this!]

Yes see? All you need is a little positive thinking! I'm sure everything will turn out alright between the two of you.

[ Or that is the sincerest of hopes. ]

No need to thank me Frederic. It's what friends and family do, yes?

Of course my friend, I only hope Feliks will return my feelings one day.

[He ponders on more though.]

I can only hope...

Just take it one day at a time, Frederic. [ You can't rush these things after all. ]

But I'm sure everything will turn out alright in the end. There's no reason for it not to after all. [ He doesn't make promises, because Luceti is a strange and sometimes tumultuous place, but he can add his own positivity to the matter to keep up the hope. ]

Of course, I believe you my friend. Thank you again for everything.

It's no trouble. [ He gives the other a small pat on the shoulder and a genuinely caring look. ]

Now do you want to help me build some snowmen?

Oh of course. We could even have a snowball fight.

[He of course chuckle at that.]
