They do sound like the fae, some forms of the fae at least. The Seelie court isn't as, um, vicious as the Unseelie court is. But both can be deadly if you say the wrong things. I-I believe wind elementals are the same way in that they have a perchance for trickery. [ He supposes its the flightly and carefree attributes of their personalities that does it. ]

But as for carving faces into pumpkins. It was used to scare away harmful spirits back in the old days.
